No they don't, with hundreds of millions of customers and hundreds of thousands of employees it would have made the news already. They do collect data but understand the risk to their reputation if they got caught doing what Tesla did. https://www.motortrend.com/news/t...g-privacy/
To be fair to Google here, you are getting Google search, mail, maps, etc in exchange for your data no purchase necessary. Think about a life without Google search.

With Samsung, Apple, and Tesla, you are paying for some over-priced product made using slave labor AND they are profiting off selling your data.

And before an Apple fanboy chimes in here, profiting from your data within the walled garden is still profiting from data use.

And let's be honest, with so little competition what are you really gonna do anyway if they all got caught literally looking at your nudies jn your cloud--you gonna trade that iPhone? (Separate antitrust rant).

Google doesn't need me to defend them, but, you can't ask them to navigate you somewhere and then get mad when they know your location.

It's exceptionally unlikely to do that at any price, let alone 55k

It's going to have 2 battery options- the longer range one is not going to be on the base model.... and every story I've seen only says "at least 300" miles range for the larger, more expensive, battery- not 350.

So 2 more years, but 20,000 less miles, than the Tesla warranty on those things for most versions of the 3/Y... (and 50,000 less miles than the warranty on the S/X battery and motors).

That said- Kia/Hyundai have done a quite decent job on several of their EVs so far-- so if you really do need that specific form factor, and accept you're not getting that range without spending quite a bit more on a higher trim model- it's a perfectly reasonable vehicle to wait for.

I think you're going to be hilariously disappointed in the final specs/pricing on those.
Some Kia dealers are doubling their 10 year/100,000 mile warranties. This is the range of the EV9 long range on the less expensive model. You don't need to buy the GT-Line to get the long range battery, it is an option on the regular EV9.

The range for the standard and all-wheel-drive models hasn't been confirmed yet, but the Long Range version will have up to 336 miles of range.

The Ram is also estimated to start in the $55,000 range as well. I am sure the top of the line will be about $90,000, but that's not what I am looking for.

Electric vehicles went out in the 1980's. Watch some videos of how many explosions there are when batteries in electric vehicles catch on fire.

You can buy a comma 3 if your car is compatible. It's essentially a self driving dashcam. I have one in my vehicle and it's incredible. One could buy a $20,000 Chevy bolt, and buy a $1500 comma 3 and essentially have the same functionality as a Tesla model 3 for less than half the price.

Comma is pretty cool for what it is, and it's roughly comparable to the basic AP feature that comes free on Teslas (though with far fewer cameras or redundancy)... but it's not REMOTELY comparable to Teslas paid option ADAS systems that can do a ton of things Comma simply can not.

I'm in this camp. Though the Tesla concept sounds intriguing, until the technology matures and prices get more real, will stick with Toyotas. Mine typically last 20-25 years with just regular maintenance.

Once Toyota comes out with a reliable and reasonably priced EV, will likely go with that.
Toyota said they won't be making EV cars until 27 or 28 at the earliest. They are sticking with hybrid vehicles.

They have sold 4 million EV so far, they wouldn't be selling any cars if it was "garbage".

Just hope for them to do better if you don't like them, don't hate.

I like to have a heads up display and speedometer in driver's vision, I hope Tesla adds one soon

The way their going they're going to take away everything that gives you control to cut even more costs. They took away half a steering wheel before giving it back due to outrage. Trash unethical company, don't give them your $.

MEANWHILE BACK IN REALITY-

EVs catch on fire roughly 10-100x less often than gasoline car depending which years data you examine.

.

336 is WLTP range-- which is always significantly higher than the more accurate EPA range FYI...that's why all the US based news stories say expected range is more like 300.

Point being if it "starts" at 55k it will be a lot higher once you add the option for a 25% larger battery--- the battery is the most expensive part of the car.

That doesn't mean it won't be a good car- I'd expect it will be, and there's not much in this class yet so I think it'll sell pretty well...just trying to be a bit more realistic about what that'll look like.

To be fair, they did make ONE, which you can drive until the wheels fall off.... Though that's surprisingly sooner than you might expect!

(also the actual specs are hilariously terrible)

Not REMOTELY comparable to Teslas FSD

EVERY company does it, if you think otherwise you're delusional. They just haven't been caught.

Duck duck go, waze, countless email options. Pretty easy to imagine life without Google.

If apple employees were caught sharing my nudies I'd sue just like Tesla is going to get sued.

Seems like you missed the point of my post

Didn't know that, thanks... I can wait. Probably a Camry hybrid until then.

Definitely not the same but I'd 100% take the Honda over the Mercedes. MB are comfy as hell but mechanically are trash. Everyone I know that has MB absolutely hates them. I honestly just want a dependable car that will last a LONG time. I've had 3 separate Hondas with over 300k on them without any major mechanical issues. MB had a great rep in the 60-70s for reliability (mostly diesels) but their current products…not so much.
