No doubt Bolt is a real value for money. And I've had 2 bolts in past.
But it's not "pretty much the same car", when compared to Tesla. But everyone can have their own opinion.
And why 100% cash, that's good enough time to get approved from Tesla finance and then re finance later

Technically this is tax fraud, as the credit requires the original buyer to be purchasing with the intent to keep the vehicle.

many buy it bec they are practical every day cars. I drive by 40-50 a day in 5 mi radius, every walk of life. But to teach their own. 🤣

The comments really tell you which posters have driven EVs, which haven't, which haven't driven Tesla, and which don't travel more than their daily commute to work.

I've had multiple ICE vehicles and multiple EVs (100% battery, not hybrid). BMW, Audi, Tesla. While they all make nice cars, there is no competition between Tesla and the others when it comes to actually using the vehicle. If you've tried driving a non-Tesla EV you know what I'm talking about. It's great going to work and back, but good luck going a few hundred miles. The non-Tesla charging network, even today, is a nightmare to deal with, with it's inconsistencies and general lack of infrastructure. It's incredibly stressful to drive anywhere and not knowing if the chargers you plan to use along your route are actually operational. So many of the generic chargers, or even big networks like Electrify America, are constantly down or out of service.

Meanwhile, I can throw any location in my Tesla's GPS and just go. I have 0 fear that I won't be able to charge, won't make it, etc. Tesla has completely nuked the concept of range anxiety. Until the Tesla network is open to others, or other networks start to compete, there is no way to use a non-Tesla EV for anything other than local travel and not feel range anxiety. And it sucks, and I know because I experience it personally. Also, the last couple Tesla's I've owned have been perfect (no panel gaps, etc.), I pay nearly the same insurance as I did with my last non-Tesla car, and my commutes cost 1/5 that of my ICE car. But I'll let people keep spouting this stuff because it shows us who is just talking out of their butt

I wish this wasn't true, because the Audi and BMW all electric cars are beautiful. But for now, it is what it is.

Honestly, if Tesla adjusted to the market a year ago, I would have been driving a Model Y right now, but their pricing pushed me towards the Ioniq 5 and now the words out the Hyundai is actually a very nice car.

I think the failure to read the market competition is going to hurt them in the short term.

This nails why I got a 3. People crapping are generally just ignorant and fear mongering from their parent's basement. There is no car on the road today, bar none, with the quality and features for the cost. Not even ballpark. I hate saying it too, because I hate Elon Musk and the general Tesla cult, but it's accurate no matter how you look at it. The only criticism I've seen that's valid in this thread are from people who do over 150 mi a day, or that they don't like the looks. Looks are subjective, so that's not factual.

People comparing a Bolt to a Tesla. GTFOH. It's like you're saying a Yugo is like an Audi because the both use gas. This is the stupidest comparison I've ever seen. The Bolt has its place, but it makes a Civic feel like a Rolls. It's the cheapest tin can on the market, with the sole benefit that it runs on electricity. I'd have been embarrassed to drive that thing when I was in college.

I am seriously considering a MYP for its towing ability. Tesla has always been interesting to me because of their self driving. But it sounds like it has recently been slowly going downhill due to regulations? Can anyone comment?
