Consider the lithium market price trend, will see Tesla go at least 25-30% lower to remain competitive in Chinese market. Which probably equals 20% in US. $39000 would be reasonable for Model Y SR DM 4680 LFP version.

...what?

So far this year, Tesla sold more than 60,000 MIC electric cars in China, which is 43 percent more than a year ago.
The Model Y is the second best selling crossover/SUV in China... and the only one ahead of it is only ahead of it because it lumps EV and hybrid sales together.

Also there's no such thing as a 4680 LFP battery.
(I mean, you could make one, but Tesla currently does not- the only LFPs they use are prismatic cells from CATL)

if only you willing to pay extra $2,000 ~ $5,000 for "market adjustment" from MSRP. I end up go with Tesla. Chevy Dealers are rude and nonsense attitude! They rip off the customers now!!
Chevrolet has been ripping off customers for a long time. Chevrolet's customer service and service isn't anything to write home about either. Add that to the looks of a Chevy Bolt.LMAO I say if someone wants a Chevy Bolt, have at it. Confused

Okay, hold up. Are you seriously trying to accuse him of falling for propaganda tricks? First of all, I don't appreciate the insinuation that they are some kind of naive fool who can't see through these tactics.
And as for the sources theyre using, what's wrong with using pro-Tesla sources? They're a reputable company and have plenty of experts who know what they're talking about. It's not like they are sources that are blatantly biased or unreliable.
it seems like you might be the one falling for some propaganda tricks here.
I actually realized that you're using AI or chatGPT to generate your responses. I can tell by the way the posts are written, especially all the transitional adverbs.

Got any reference of this? I've only seen Tesla spontaneously combust but it can easily happen to ant battery car.
There have always been cars that could spontaneously combust. Some were ICE vehicles too.

You are going to love it.

I have two Teslas and have Cybertruck on order as well.

Once you drive these things it is difficult to go back to ICE. Also, like i you said, American tech!

Plan was to keep a Tesla and an ICE but that all changed once I owned one.

Get a level 2 charger at home installed and enjoy!

My personal favorite is when EV fanboys claim oil is bad because of the wars fought over it.

And I'm like, "you don't think anyone is going to fight wars over EV resources if it takes off?"

SMH. The stupidity is unreal.

Like seriously, I dare you to counter-argue that point.

Okay, hold on a second. I think you're oversimplifying things a bit here. Yes, it's true that EVs require resources like lithium and cobalt, and there are concerns about how those resources are obtained and the impact it has on the environment and people in the regions where they're mined. But to say that wars will break out over these resources is a bit of a stretch. It's not like there's a limited supply of lithium or cobalt in the world. And there are already efforts underway to find more sustainable and ethical ways to obtain these resources. Plus, even if there were some conflicts over these resources, it's not like it would be on the same scale as the wars fought over oil. The global economy is not nearly as dependent on lithium and cobalt as it is on oil. So while I understand your skepticism about the environmental impact of EVs, I don't think it's fair to compare it to the conflicts caused by oil. And I certainly don't think it's productive to resort to name-calling and insults when discussing complex issues like this.

Quality of a Tesla is not great . . . So I agree, bolt is much higher build quality, and spies on you a lot less.
In 2022 there were almost 760,000 Model Y's sold. While there were 38,000 Bolts sold. Yeah, Chevy Bolts were doing a lot less of everything! LMAO And no, Chevy is not known for anything remotely close to high quality.

The new KIA EV9 looks 🔥 Tesla is the leader so they can charge more than other companies, but other companies are catching up. Is it me or the Self-driving capability didn't always cost $15k? I'm interested in EV vehicles. I already have my townhouse wired to add a nema 15-50 port for EV charging. The charging infrastructure needs to improve dramatically before EV over take gas vehicles. Prices on gas vehicles are also very inflated at the moment so the cost to move to EV is not as high as before. If I owned a gas station, I'd put in a row of charging stations as well 🤣.

Once again people not understanding that a big part of Tesla's profit margins come from their manufacturing and vertical integration, while other EV manufactures are either selling theirs with very low margins or at a loss.

Say it with me...manufacturing costs.

it is amazing that we have all these folks that have never driven a Tesla, or owned one, and have not even researched what the company is doing yet they are self appointed expert.
Yet you assume I haven't driven or owned one?
what does manufacturing cost or vertical integration have to do with it? same thing as Apple getting much better prices for panels due to high volume orders.

the simple fact that they have such high profit margin means they can lower prices much more, which is the definition of overpriced. why is that so hard to understand? according to you they can charge whatever they want for it as long as it sells right?

Russia has already invaded Ukraine and probably caused 500,000 deaths PLUS over Donetsk, which has several lithium deposits, lol.

Ukraine, on the border of the EU, has the largest reserves of lithium in Europe with mines in Donetsk and Kirovograd.

Well, suit yourself. I'm not here to force anyone to take me seriously. If you don't want to respond to me, that's entirely up to you. But if you change your mind and want to have a civil conversation, feel free to reach out. Until then, take care.

Have you seen how African people are treated who dig for cobalt? The resources used to build these cars make life pretty miserable for the people gathering them. It would be better if we could build an American car from American resources that runs on American sourced fuel. It's possible but will not happen due to cost.

I am never going to agree with you. Having a civil conversation means you want me to agree with all of your viewpoints, even if you keep laughably being proven wrong.

Claiming wars won't be fought over EV resources when one of the biggest wars in the past 80 years is going on in Eastern Ukraine where major lithium deposits are is insane.
