Cpu came out in 2019. Meanwhile there's a common thread on here with dell latitudes with 8th gen mobile chips which are 3 years older than this selling for similar price. No not an ancient cpu. It's actually based on ryzen 2000 series desktop to give it some context.

Passmark score is 7200. Other Intel chips are about 1000 points less than this. Even many Intel 10th gen i5 aren't as powerful

I have a laptop with this cpu.

It will run rocket league decently well.

It will run davinci resolve and edit a video. It has 2GB vram which is bare bare minimum for that program. Ryzen 4500u for example only has 500mb vram.

And it can be overclocked with ryzen controller software. It will boost multi core quite a bit but it will suffer in single core when you do. And get hotter. But it's an option. Also it can be underclocked and get better battery life.

Agree this CPU is too old (4 years, but effective 5 because Zen+ is not much different from Zen 1 from 2017). Price needs to get lower to reflect that. I remember seeing a few i3-1215U or i3-1220p machines a while ago at $300 and I would pick that any day over this. Now if this were $200 then we might talk.

Stay away from the Walmart Gateway's, they have the worst build quality of any computer. There is a real risk it'll snap in half just opening the display.

I bought a Gateway laptop from Walmart last year. It died within a month, customer service was not helpful, just reading the script and located abroad. I had to return it to Walmart.

You could get a Dell 7300 with 1080p touch screen, 300 nits, i7 8th gen, 16gb ram, 512gb SSD for the same price. It's not about speed as much as build quality and upgradability.
