Stay away from this refrig. I bought one last June and it came with a defective freezer door. So, the repair service came out finally in June and said the freezer door was slightly bent, and they ordered a new part. I finally received the new part yesterday! That's 9 months to get the problem corrected. Even the repair person admitted this refrig is a problem.

We bought this when it last on sale a few months ago. Have had no problems. Take that for what it is worth. Purchased it to spruce up the townhouse for sale. Temps have been just fine and Costco's haul away and installation gave it pretty good value

We just bought it 3 weeks ago and it has been running solid. We paid $650 + tax. Don't think they can price match since it has been 3 weeks, but anyone has any thoughts on what can be done with the price difference?

You will people telling you one thing and others saying the opposite. I had one in my garage for 16 years and it just died in the fall. I live around Cleveland, Oh and while my garage is insulated and dry walled it is not attached and if anyone thinks the temp isn't the same as outside they are crazy. I insulated to heat it when working on cars - which turned out rarely. It's going to be hit or miss because who knows if your fridge is a great one or a dud. Reviews help but really it's a crap shoot. BTW I bought one for the covered deck so I believe they are done in my area

One of the reviews states they had it in a garage and it wouldn't cool, a service tech was sent out by the manufacturer and they were told the compressor doesn't kick on with temperatures below 55 degrees. May have just been a defective unit and Whirlpool's way of getting out of fixing it, but it was enough for me to decide not to buy it considering mine would be replacing an old less efficient GE that's in my garage now.

You couldn't tell the door was bent. It took me a couple of months to notice the issue because of frost build-up in the top freezer. The door had a slight warp on it and the repairwomen said it would take two weeks to get a new door. They kept promising the part would be in about 4 weeks. I complained, and they just kept saying it was coming in. I left for Florida for 3 1/2 months and just got back and guess what. The part was in.

And I always have stated on this site that if you're going to buy a fridge get an extended warranty because refrigs are all sh.t from China. Numerous fridge compressors were a significant problem a couple of years ago because of a welding issue.

If you put an incondescent light bulb in the right spot It will work fine. A Google search should tell you how to do it.
