The cooling effect on any pillow, tempur pedic included, will only last 30 min at most. Some pillows use a bamboo material for the outer cover, some have a thin layer of gel that absorbs heat to produce the cooling effect. However, none will last that long due to the laws of thermodynamics. The materials used can only absorb/dissipate so much heat and after that the effect is barely noticeable. If you need more "cooling effect" after that, you are out of luck. My wife has used thin, large gel packs and put them inside the pillow case but even those only last for so long (same concept)

I'm considering one of the cooling options they have. For the price of ~$200 for 2 pillows with the BOGO promotion.. is it worth it? Some online reviews say the cooling effect only lasts 10-30 min. Someone with these pillows please send a recommendation

I bought mine a while back when they had a very rare BOGO + % off promo. I think it was the best decision ever. While cooling is not permanent, I don't think there's a better alternative in the market.

I bought this a few years ago for same reason, it's a cooling gel pack in a small area. Works well If the room is cool but only for probably less than an hour. Since it's memory foam, it still holds a good amount out of heat and I had issues getting too warm at night. I got the harmony pillow from Purple and I would highly recommend it as it's a hex gel grid through the pillow and there is a pillow cushion insert in the middle you slide in. Does a fantastic job on keeping me cool but I currently have issues if the core gets flat after 2 years but they will send a replacement . Highly recommend purple if you are looking into a cooler pillow that is comfy as well.

I took a peek, but all my tempur pillows from 13 years ago look way better than these and they stop work fine. I think these new ones are engineered to be obsolete.
