Lexar is a Chinese company -> Disclaimer. Dear Customers or Users. Due to restrictions from the U.S. government, Lexar is not allowed to offer any upgrade services…

I had their flash drives die on me too, not going to risk it on a SSD.

I still stick with Teamgroup because Teamgroup is Taiwan company and their SATA SSD are the same price range(~ $75-$84), most same spec (R/W speed, No DRAM. SLC cache) but more duration (1600 TBW > 1000 TBW)

Do we still trust Fakespot? Not good for this product:

https://www.fakespot.com/product/...tate-drive

Good prices though. Almost picked up several of the 128GB before I saw this and read some online reviews of Lexar in general.

weird to see all the anti-lexar/china sentiment; iphones are still made in china (though yes, not all their components are). not to mention the bias of those who've had bad experiences being much more likely to speak up about it than those who've had good ones. it would be strange to grab american ip just to tank it; i don't think anyone's tried to do that with other storied electronics brands (rca, westinghouse, etc.), so not really much reason to think they would do that for lexar.

anyway, you always have amazon's backing here. that being said, i couldn't really find any great information about their performance or anything post-acquisition, but the parent company at least appears to have been around a long time.

There may be a few reasons:

1) Lexie used to be a good memory brand. I think the implication is after being bought out, there are questions about durability. This is common, as often times bought out companies ride on the coat tails of the previous name.

2) with PRC seemingly threatening Taiwan recently, it should not be a surprise that some people want to align with Taiwan.
