$1.99 for an equivalent type at Harbor Freight. Works just as good too!
I'll stick with Bic
I had a couple of the official Boy Scouts of America branded version of this back in the early-late 90s. Use with mounds of saved dryer lint and you're in business. Can still taste the aluminum foil pouch meals filled with bits of hot dogs, chunks of potatoes, and chopped carrots and onions inside. Good times.

I've bought stuff like this in the past. Now that I actually go out and use it, I can tell you: just buy a mini bic lighter. If you're worried about reliability, buy two mini bics. Realistically anything else is just a waste of time and money.

Meh. You can get a pack of 8 rods without handles on Amazon for around $12.

Granted those are just the rod but the other stuff is mostly useless anyway. Any pocketknife works as a scraper. ....

I attended an aircrew survival seminar and they had attached old hacksaw blades broken into half, tied with paracord.

If you only need one, this exact item without the branding is available from Lulu sports for only $2.24:

I remember these being awesome for spark fights with my brother back in the day. We used them 1 time to actually start a real fire 😂

I use ferro rods & lint to start fires in my Solo Stove while camping with my kids. It's a lot of fun for them to forage for twigs, start the fire, then we cook with the fire.
