I wonder if the Slash model isn't a better deal- they'll sell you that for between 650 and 700. Aaa maple and a hard case. Different era LP, of course.

Q&As say that it's a flat top, not carved, and the wiring isn't set to coil split. I don't think either of these are deal breakers, as Epiphone makes fine guitars and the ProBuckers are pretty decent pickups.

I know that "Thomas" said it was a flat top, but the pictures show a modest carve. I'd be very surprised if it was flat. Maybe he confused "carved top" with archtop…?

Sure looks like a regular carved top if you zoom into that profile pic.

I think it may be canted a bit in that profile photo where we are likely seeing a glimpse of the far edge tilted toward us, giving it a raised top or curved appearance

I have an LP-100, would this just be a straight up upgrade in comparison? Similar color as well.

what country is this guitar made in? - I have a Telecaster made in Japan and it is the best quality guitar I have owned in 50 years!

I thought that might be the case, but I'm sticking with carved top for 3 reasons. Firstly, the back of the guitar is pretty much dead straight/flat. Secondly, the bridge is perfectly edge-on and and sits on the highest point of the front of the guitar. Thirdly, it's a quilted maple finish with binding - pretty much unthinkable to do all of that without a carved top. If you're trying to "impersonate" a Gibson LP then why skimp on such a critical detail?

Along with the subjective looks of this guitar, the pickups and tuners are straight up upgrades, wouldn't be surprised if the bridge is, as well (can't find LP 100 details on a quick search).

I'm not sure how your guitar's neck feels, but if you're suffering fret sprout, uneven frets, or if it can't be setup. well, you'd likely find an improvement with this.

However, if you're happy with how your guitar looks and feels, you can likely upgrade the pickups, tuners and bridge to higher quality than the Standard 60s, for cheaper than buying a new guitar.

It's a carved top. They don't mount the pickguard like that on the flat tops. On flat tops the guard is screwed directly to the top.
If you go the the epiphone website there is a side shot that shows the bridge is higher than the side (so it's carved) https://www.epiphone.com/en-US/El...3562/Ebony

These new epiphones are way nicer than the ones we had in the 90s.

If I could justify buying another guitar i'd be in
