It would be an ok deal if the ssd and PSU wasn't skimped. But it's a pre-built so expect bottom of the barrel parts.

Yes noted in description that it was 700 dollar during late 2022 sales. Up to folks to decide if they want to wait and see.

Ok. Add another $20 and double the RAM.
Also, OP's was 6600XT whereas the guy who posted the pcpartpicker list used a 6650XT. So add $20 for the RAM but subtract $20 to keep it even with the OP's 6600XT.

This exact PC was on sale, with a LONGER warranty (via Costco VISA, they stopped adding extra years of warranty after Jan 2023), five months ago in mid-November 2022.

Since then, the prices for computer parts have fallen quite a lot for CPU, RAM, SSD, and yet they RAISED the price of this PC by $100.

Even compared to other brands' PC deals that have come and gone over the last 5 months, this isn't that great of a deal. There was the Lenovo PC deal that was on sale just a couple of days ago that was a lot stronger for only $200 more, for example.

What SSD did you install?

The way I originally read the specs I thought there was an extra/open M.2 slot to add a SSD, since it's listed under "Expansion Slots."
"Expansion Slots: 2 M.2 (1 for SSD, 1 for WLAN); 1 PCIe x16; 1 PCIe x1"

But it appears that is the only M.2 socket 3, Key M, (2280/2242), which is already holding the 500gb SSD that is part of the original build that has the OS on it, correct?

https://support.hp.com/us-en/docu...68395#AbT0

So, is it accurate to say that the only option for adding a SSD is a SATA 2.5"?

Is that what you did? If not, can you please inform me with what you did? Thanks!

This is a horrible deal because Nvidia is overpricing their cards. The 3060 is still going doe $350+. With that money, the 6700XT absolutely demolished it. You can build a 5600 & 6700XT for this exact price and will be a 1080p monster and do well at 1440p.
Please build me one.

You really can't go wrong with the 6600XT. It's a good value GPU for 1080p gaming.

No one notices the built-in graphic chip in the CPU? It means you can always pull the GPU and still be able to use the PC.
I've never seen a shot of the back of these. I have no clue what the MB supports, if anything, for video out.

Or does strike me as odd that these APUs are being paired with a respectable graphics card. Must have stock to unload?

This feels like a grab bag of parts that didn't sell well. The 5700G never really found its niche - people who just wanted 2D graphics onboard got the 5600G, and it doesn't pack enough punch to rival even the cheapest discrete graphics in 3D. A 6600XT plus Ryzen 5600X will run you $370 or so new, and you can get the remaining parts (motherboard, ssd, memory, psu, case) for $300 or so. You could use the difference to get a Radeon 6700XT for $350 (or $300 used) which will be much better at 1440p. I guess the Windows license will cost something, and you'll probably want a nicer keyboard/mouse but free is good. But if you're comfortable building yourself, this doesn't feel like much of a deal.

Thank you for sharing. I have been researching how to build vs buying pre-made. Your comment helps.

Bouncing ideas off the community on desktop for my kid playing roblox and lost ark.i may go on it to do some diablo 4.

I just got the vip outlet deal refurb rx 5600g/rx 5500/8gb/256 nvme for 360. Switched out to 2x16gb ram for $60. Total 420+tax. I have a 1TB nvme i'll be throwing in.

Comparing to this deal, the CPU here is about on par.
Ram is equal.
GPU is 2x as good but definitely not $280 better. I saw 6600-xt for $250 the other day and if I wait to upgrade down the line, it will be even cheaper.

I should skip this deal right?
