It would be an ok deal if the ssd and PSU wasn't skimped. But it's a pre-built so expect bottom of the barrel parts.

More powerful than the 3060 build that everyone seem to love despite being more expensive

Bouncing ideas off the community on desktop for my kid playing roblox and lost ark.i may go on it to do some diablo 4.

I just got the vip outlet deal refurb rx 5600g/rx 5500/8gb/256 nvme for 360. Switched out to 2x16gb ram for $60. Total 420+tax. I have a 1TB nvme i'll be throwing in.

Comparing to this deal, the CPU here is about on par.
Ram is equal.
GPU is 2x as good but definitely not $280 better. I saw 6600-xt for $250 the other day and if I wait to upgrade down the line, it will be even cheaper.

I should skip this deal right?
Read the comments. This isn't a good deal. It used to be $700. I put up a build list if you want to compare.

Anyone have successful experience moving from win 11 to 10? Reviews indicate Wi-Fi driver issue when doing so.

It was not in the two Philadelphia suburbs stores I called.

I'm trying to decide if I want to get this or not. At $700 thats in my price zone, and the costco extended warranty's a good thing that saved me on my macbook air. I think if it were a less proprietary system (asus rog maybe) I'd jump on it I guess. (edited- my existing gaming system is dying which adds to some of my urgency)

Is there a way to support 2 NVME drives on this system without resorting to USB enclosures? I have a 1TB drive I'd want to use in this system but wouldnt want to lose the 500gb either.

You may have to account for the larger power supply to make that an apples to apples comparison. It's hard to say when your baseline is the 5500 because it's 2 gens old now and near the bottom of AMD's tiers. I have the 6600 xt and it runs all current games at reasonable frame rates in medium to high settings at 2k. To double the performance of that the 6600 xt is easily >600 bucks or more so $280 seems less like a bad deal IMO.

For $700 this is a good deal, but definitely not for any more than $700. Compared to all the other gaming pcs on the market this would be considered bottom of the list, but for those that are still running a 3-5 year old rig and dont want to spend a lot of money because we mostly watch YouTube and might play one or two games like d4 or something then this is still a solid upgrade

Bought a similar 15L on HP.com during black friday. Blazing fast, zero issues. Got the i7 12700 w/ 3060 version. They throw deals on their site from time to time. Metal keyboard and silent mouse was also affordable, quality.

Why put a 5700G CPU in it with a 6600XT?

If you have a Windows 7 PC with the keys, then you can use them for Windows 11.

FWIW, I upgraded few machines with the Win 7 pro keys to Win 11 pro.
