It's stunning how much inflation has impacted these products with this material. Suncast and Lifetime have been the worst. I have an 8' x 15' Lifetime shed I got from Costco in 2019 for $1,000. I believe it was $400 off on coupon. The latest price on Costco is $1,900!

I'm looking for a large shed too, twice the price now. Like the rest of the market I think they realized that they can sell less product at a higher price. They have lower costs all around and make the same profit....It,s a shame and probably never going back to "normal". I'll wait, not paying $2400. for a $1200. shed. Just guessing that the quality and workmanship are probably not as good either...

so $1400 to $1900, $300 is inflation. +10% more for supply chain issues.
Go to your local fast food joint if you want to see crazy. most items on fast food menus have gone up over 80%, far in excess of inflation, in that same time period.
You won't see coupons for yard items in spring, those will show up in august when they are clearing inventory to make room for winter stuff.
This is not the time to buy yard stuff, you missed the window. Only buy yard stuff if you absolutely need it during spring.

You will have a bit of control on future inflation next election.
You do realize that inflation doesn't rise and fall on a single year time frame, unless a force majeur event ocurrs (war, natural disaster, pandemic). Meaning, the seeds of the current economic situation was likely planted several years ago, and it will likely not unwind until several years from now.
This is the normal price at Costco and usually they get sold out before a sale or clearance.
The website shows the normal price of $549.99. They are on sale for $400 right now in the warehouses.
For a brief time this past weekend the website showed them at $400 with free shipping, I almost started a thread about it, thinking it might be a permanent price adjustment until they sold out, but thought it was not worth the inflation complaining and shed snobbery that shows up every thread. Also some people don't seem to have much luck with the Costco shipping crews handling bulky items.
I bought 1 back last year when they were on sale for $470, shipped to me back in September with no real damage, the box was beat up though, YMMV. This shed was the best deal I could find for that price and had the dimensions to fit my application. I added 2 shelves using a 1x12 and supported each shelf with 2 shelf "L" brackets I bought at Home Depot, securing them with screws into the back wall and shelves. You do have to cut them and notch them so they fit the rib on the back wall. The shelves add quite a bit of structural support and I recommend everyone screw them in just for that reason, let alone the convenience of having more storage space.
I'm using it to move my lawn equipment, tools, and supplies out of the garage and into a recessed and under-utilized alcove on the side of my house. Mine is fairly well protected from the wind, but seems sturdy enough if you have it up against a wall of a garage or house. Not sure how well it would do free-standing in the middle of the yard, would not trust all that surface area to too much wind. Not sure about snow, but the rain storms lately haven't gotten much, if any, water inside. The door is a little flimsy, not secure enough to deter anyone who wants anything inside (you are in the wrong shed if you are looking for security), but enough to keep kids away.
Now that it has dropped to $400 I bought 2 more at the warehouse.

It will be a race to the bottom once we hit a recession and sales plummet to nothing, presuming the dollar stabilizes with these fed rate hikes. Otherwise, I hope you own some crypto, because if global de-dollarization actually occurs, then $2400 will seem like a steal...
As for the product itself, I've had a Suncast 7x7 shed that I built at one house and moved to another, and it's still holding strong. It will probably outlive me since it's made of plastic, and hasn't had any issues in major windstorms, icestorms, rain, etc. while butted up against the house. Had a pool built, and kept all my tools from growing legs and walking away.

Hopefully not, people do not know what is really going on. Yes, plastic is the only way to go...God Bless America.

I have it since last fall. We didn't have a lot of snow this winter so it's seen plenty of heavy wind and rain. The floor has been bone dry with the only wetness being underneath the door strips. Meaning if you open the door after rain there is a wet strip where the door meets the floor. I have not experienced any humidity issue - I store snow melt (salt) inside and I did not see any condensation or clumping which would have happened if there is high humidity. The roof is vented - you can see daylight from inside at the corners where the roof meets the sidewalls.

Yep. Because whomever you elect has the power to simply walk through the door on day one and declare, "I'm in, folks! For my first act, I'll be upping everyone's pay by 10,000% and simultaneously lowering the price of a Costco shed to a shiny nickel!" It's really that simple.

Not sure why you guys are getting triggered and defensive. My message was very neutral. All I said was to vote wisely next election. I am not endorsing anyone; all I am saying is that there's a collective power if done correctly.

That isn't ridiculous, that's just math unfortunately. https://www.bls.gov/data/inflatio...ulat
