TL;DR: These are fantastic controllers at this price point but if you want to spend a little more, there are some better options without spending the money on the Switch Pro Controller.
Pros:
* Good ergonomics
* Buttons and thumbsticks are acceptable and better than what we used to get from companies like Mad Catz back in the Gamecube/PS2 era.
* Fantastic designs ... most of the time. This is of course subjective but I really feel like PowerA has designed some really cool looking controllers this generation.
* Headset/headphone port if your game supports it.
* Removable cord for easy storage. Sadly Power A put a notch in it so be prepared to do some modding if you need to swap the cable.
Cons:
* Wired only. These aren't wireless controllers. Maybe that's important to you. For me it's a 50:50 issue with no charging but also having to deal with wires.
* No Rumble. A lot of games need the rumble to just feel right. A lot of games don't need rumble at all. I don't miss rumble on a majority of games but hey, we've had this feature forever and it's too bad PowerA doesn't want to include it when tons of other controllers do include it.
* No motion controls. A positive for Mario Kart but some games really require their use.
* No Amiibo support. This is neutral to me as I have never used an Amiibo and you can always just use your joycons for that.
* The sticks are a little less nice than the Pro Controller ones and feel a bit more plasticky. This is the case of the shell as well. That said, these are less than 1/3 the cost of a Nintendo made Pro Controller.
Who should buy these?
I recommend these to the following people:
* People who like to collect cool, functional products of characters they like. I bought an Isabelle one on sale because she's cute and own the Hylian shield because it looks great. Maybe get some controller stands to display them.
* People with kids who all want to play Kirby or Mario 3D World together. They can each get their favorite character on a controller and you save the good Pro controllers for mom and dad.
What I might recommend instead
* Power A Enhanced Wireless controller if you can get it around $30
* Horipad Mini if you have small children with tiny hands

I have the 360 wired USB version of this for my PC (looks nearly the same - I would imagine much of the same guts). One went back to PowerA for warranty replacement for drift, and the replacement had drift shortly after.
