But, there are some who still have unused uses of our Free File Code & a download link for the software.
A $5 Amazon Gift Card for one use of the Free File Code is a nice trade to help offset the costs of having to purchase the software early.
As to the State tax filing portion, H&R Block DOES charge to e-file a State Tax Return (except New York). One way to avoid the fee is to just print your return and mail it in. It's not as quick but it will save you some money.
EDIT: I am ALL OUT out of code uses.
For others who have ALREADY FILED and have UN-Used uses of your FIVE (5) Federal Free Files, please offer them up here for other last-min. SD'ers. Your code is not tied to you or your tax return in any way. It's only used to activate the software and count how many times that code has been used to e-file.

I still have unused uses of my Product Key and I will trade for a $5 AGC.
I can provide a download link and one (1) use of my code to use to e-file your Federal Taxes. In addition, it will allow you to download for your State software (does NOT offer state free e-file unless you live in NY)

But, you bring up an interesting point - could you??? This is something that needs to be tried! That would be a game changer if one could use their code for say 5years in a row!
Since you stated you only used one use of your code from last year, you can certainly try to use a 2022 code to file your 2023 taxes (assuming someone provides you a link to download the software - which in the past is just a link to download the software).
The use of the code only really comes into play and is verified by H&R Block, when one goes to e-file their tax return THROUGH the H&R Block software at the end of the filling out (tax info) process. When one submits their Federal return through H&R Block, at that point is when the H&R Block servers verify that you have a valid code - in order to complete the e-file of a Federal tax return through their servers on the way to the IRS.
The software lets you use the software to input your tax info without the code - you can bypass that at the beginning where it asks for the code (or at least, I always have been able to bypass inputting the code, after installing the software).
Again, you bring up a good point - does H&R Block tie the code to the particular tax year (or software version)?? Only one way to find out...someone has to try. I don't believe anyone can file their 2023 Federal Taxes until late January...so it will be a while until we know.
On the other hand, if someone has still not filed their 2022 Federal Tax Return - they have bigger issues!
