There may be a drive size limit these video devices will operate with. Check your manual. Like the other guy said make sure its formatted correctly.

Because the LED cost monies & they manufacture in the millions which cuts into the profits when the flash drives are already dirt cheap

You may want to check your grounding. The metal case should shield interference and not cause it. However, if you have a grounding problem it may act as an antenna and add RF noise.
