Is there any reason these would not work in a laptop that uses ddr4 2400mhz dimm's? I'm assuming faster ram can always slow down?

This is a great option for your 2021 Legion 5 Pro that had horrible RAM installed (worldwide shortage of anything good). You can expect a small performance boost BUT more importantly, much better 1% lows in games.

Also the 2x8GB kit was $82 a year ago also on Newegg. So this is a screaming deal.

Wow, you can still replace RAM in laptops?! Don't the manufactures realize they could solder it on and make you pay inflated RAM costs at purchase? That planned obsolescence would bring even more money over time?

DDR5 is expected to be the last generation with SODIMM memory modules. For DDR6 it's expected to be replaced by the Dell-developed CAMM, or just soldered on in many cases.

Explanation here: https://www.pcworld.com/article/1...rived.html

The modules can even contain LPDDR memory, but I wouldn't expect a decrease in soldered memory in favor of CAMM unless we're really lucky and it's somehow cheaper.

Any one know if these will work with the Dell Inspiron 16 5625? These are not listed under compatible ram but I am not seeing any difference between the ones that are compatible and these. Thanks in advance.

I just ordered the Timetec 32GB KIT(2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz (DDR4-3200) PC4-25600 Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL22 Timing 22-22-22-52 2Rx8 Dual Rank 260 Pin SODIMM for $54.99

What does CL22 mean? These say they are dual channel. Does that mean dual rank? Should I cancel my order and oder these instead?
These are lower latency (20) but I've ordered them twice and got single rank both times. The timetec are 22 latency but dual rank and on benchmarks like Aida the timetec were a little ahead on every single benchmark except for one.

What spec determines it's rank?
8 memory modules on each side = dual rank but photos on websites such as Amazon or Newegg don't always coincide with what you get (on this photo you see a tall strip covering the memory modules so one would expect 8 on each side but you actually get a thin strip covering these so only 1 row of memory chips therefore 4 on each side and single rank, see the only review on Newegg that shows a pic of what you will likely get, which again is single rank).

I bought a Lenovo Legion 7 in early Jan of last year and it came with 16 GB Samsung slow ram (as per Jarrod's Tech on youtube). I am contemplating to use this deal to upgrade ... but how much of a difference is it really going to make? As per him, it can provide up to 15% performance boost with faster ram. I put in a microcenter 2 TB NVMe drive in it myself as my secondary drive. So far, I never came across a usage where 16 GB wasn't enough.

Yes logic says it would but some Dell models won't post. XPS 9510 (and I believe Precision 5560) for example.

How to find the compatible Laptop? I have a 8 gig XPS 13 9360
Going by Kingston's site, your laptop RAM is nonremovable:

I could be wrong but if I recall that was with dual rank memory. This is single rank memory. You can expect a small boost in performance but where it really helps is with 1% lows in gaming. If this was $100, I would say no. But for 32GB for top quality RAM, it's worth a shot IMO. At least you can have Chrome open AND play a game at the same time now. Smilie
