The 48 Kestrel is a great bag, and should be the perfect size/dimensions for any kind of traveling/adventure, other than personal carry-on items on airplanes.

Lol 10 years of through hiking with my Kestrel says otherwise. And they have one of the best warranties in the business.

Lol so your basis of quality is "not made in China"? Might as well stop typing on your "made in China junk" keyboard that's connected to your "made in China junk" computer. Please.
"Any" is also a strong claim. Every brand makes good and crappy items, and the brands you listed are no exception. Just because one manufacturer makes something good doesn't mean others are automatically junk. It's not mutually exclusive.
Anywho, I own a few hiking packs and the Osprey Kestrel is one of my personal favorites among my other bags from REI, Deuter, and the newer Cotopaxi. Quality is top-notch (I've had this bag for 8+ years and it's still as good as the first time I used it). At this price, it's a great deal. I would definitely recommend trying to find an outdoor sports store that carries this pack or similar and testing it out before buying though, especially given the "no returns" aspect. Comfort and fit are highly subjective.
