Do yourself a favor and for a bit more money wait till DTO has a sale on a backpack sprayer for Ryobi etc. this thing is tedious and not worth it. It also breaks over time look at the amazon comments

Thanks OP, need one after this cheapo Flo-Master started leaking from the wand. 1 gallon is probably perfect for most people to avoid leaving chemicals inside and damaging the seals.

I've had several of these Chapin sprayers over the years. They do tend to leak after awhile. Also, the way to release pressure is a horrible design. I always end up getting stuff sprayed all over me.

I just picked up a Scotts 190567 Lithium-Ion Battery Powered Pump and it is so much better not having to manually pump. The pressure release valve on this is also better, easier to release pressure without having anything spraying all over the place.

This is cheap use and throw every year kind of sprayer, if you really need a sprayer than get a reasonable battery operated one, Ryobi would fit that range

After going through dozens of these type sprayer - all same issue. Gaskets and o ring fail.

Only buy ones that come with VITON bubber seals and o rings.

They are about 50 percent more but will last a lifetime. You never need to drain them, as VITON is a flouropolymer and is impervious to solvents and acids.

I do agree that for reusable purposes, it is good to have battery-operated one (I personally owned Ryobi 2 gallon), and it is so much faster and more convenient.
Having said that, I do need something like this cheapo one from time to time for the paver sealer solvent to spray and once you used it for that or any other purpose like that, it needs to throw it away.

I have both actually. One for lawn weed, one for everything else. They have their pro and con. The Ryobi one, for example, can be a pain to clean and to setup, and pretty heavy for occasional use.
Their all have their use cases.

How the hell do you find out if they have these or not?

This. I bought two Ryobis thinking that was end game, but they're heavy with the battery, and unwieldy in addition to being a pain to clean. They also don't seal well and mixing stuff is impossible, you have to premix before putting the stuff in the container. It also doesn't actually pressurize the container, so it's constantly trying to pull liquid and loud instead of on to get to pressure and then off.

Long story I ended drilling a hole in my 1gal and 2gal chapins and put in a stubby tire valve stem (took all of two min). Pressurize to 40psi in a second with the compressor and spay till out of liquid without the noise or weight of the battery. Since then my Ryobis have sat unused as these are so much more convenient, not to mention way cheaper and easier to use now that I can pressurize through the valve stem. Worked so well I ended up doing my hr 1/2 gallon as well as my IK 2L foam cannons

I've had great luck with chapins lasting me years, but I never leave them pressurized and always store them empty
