These are pretty decent but Advance Auto has one with fantastic welds, contact surface feet, extra bottom support plate, and that is INDIVIDUALLY rated to take the full rated load. It also has a nifty little pneumatic or hydraulic built in to lift it to the vehicle which is very satisfying to play around with. There's always a decent coupon for AA and I think I paid $36 for two of them. Not saying this is better just what I preferred. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com...11971137-P

The strongway stands are ASME rated, which means that each individual stand is rated the same as the pair.

They do this because there is no way to know the exact weight distribution across a pair (or more) of stands.

Either Alexa is listening or the Matrix is breaking down... I've noticed the same. I was not speaking of or looking for jack stands, but I have a need for them recently. I kept thinking of a way to go out of town to pick up my old ones from another place, but this is convenient. I read about Petrus Gonsalvus a day ago. Last night I casually mentioned Beauty and the Beast in conversation. As I was looking for something in particular a comedian's show about Beauty and the Beast came up within 10 min; however, it was embedded in the text of something I was randomly looking at ie part of the text to be read in something unrelated.

That's good to know. Weight ratings are not something marketing departments should ever get their grubby little paws on like what is sadly common across other stands and equipment I've seen.

I spent some time yesterday trying to figure out the best 6-ton to get. Honestly Harbor Freight seems to have the best one. Most are pretty similar but HF has added feet, better welds, and a better locking pin. Next time they have sale/coupon I am grabbing 2 sets.
