If you don't need to get under it, the bottle jack should be fine for a little while. If you need to get under it, use jack stands or risk getting smushed.

I would recommend two sets (4 total) when doing a tire rotation so you can lift the whole vehicle off the ground and do all of the tires at once.

If somebody would've told me 10+ years ago that I'd be spending $200+ on jackstands, I would LOL'ed pretty hard. But here I am and have a pair of US Jack 6-ton stands and have no regrets whatsoever. Superb quality and construction and safe as can be.
Guess when one gets old enough, safety and quality in stuff like this is worth quite a bit. Hence, I'm not skimping on any of that anymore on stuff like this.
