Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
I hate when companies super inflate the original price to make it seem like it's a great deal. Adorama are such shade balls. The price of the speaker on the manufacture website and others sites is $900 each. So at best this is getting the center speaker free which might still be a good deal but not a several thousand dollar deal like Adorama implies.

I agree with Ismelldeals but I do have to say these are fantastic speakers and they've been around for a long time. These are the newer line of their speakers.

adorama does not inflate MSRP afaik, the manufacturer website, just does not show you msrp. in either case, why does it matter what msrp is and what % off msrp it is. only thing should matter is how much is it delivered to your door, doesn't it?
They're saying the vendor is misleading customers by placing a high arbitrary msrp to trick the consumer in thinking they are getting a perceived savings. It's wrong and misleading. Not a hard thing to understand.

One thing to keep in mind with piano gloss white speakers like this is that they generate a ton of glare from tv's and other lighting when you're in a light controlled room. Some may find that off-putting. Deftech make a great speaker though!

Lol I'm with on this and it's seems to be same people every time.
This happens regularly but funny how it's only an issue with Adorama/your post that always gets the flac and no one else(agenda! 🤔).
Here is a perfect example, that pops up just as regularly with ZERO complaints!
Isn't this a deal site , if this isn't a good price for a PAIR & the center of these I would think the logical thing to do is point people to a better one.
Funny how that never happens! 🤔

I'm sure these are great if you actually get them delivered properly, but Adorama sent me (and many others) two left speakers of different colors and made me lug them to a UPS store to return them. Not a quality retail site.
Thoughts on these vs klipsch premier? Mainly will be used for home theater and some gaming.
Two very different sound signatures.
These aren't as efficient as the RP's and IMO prefer more power.
Can get a little muddy with lower power.
They are at their best at higher listening levels than the RP's IMO.
The RP's are much more bright to the point of being harsh to some.

Curious if they were able to get you the correct ones?

It matters. It's deceptive marketing gimmicks and makes people suspicious of the actual product quality.

What is the financial arrangement between Adorama & Iconian? Why is he the only one posting their deals, but also fervently defending them & their practices too?

there is no arrangement and I am not the only one posting (i only post deals that I personally believe in) .. you can verify that by searching adorama.com in search...
i am not defending them, if they screwed up, i'd the first one digging the hole for them. I am defending common sense... MSRP is set by manufacturers and if you check other dealers, who list MSRP, it should show the same... best buy[bestbuy.com] or amazon[amazon.com] for example have it for $1750 each
i even clearly stated that personally I feel that MSRP is useless, however as a society we are so conditioned to look at it, that many nefarious manufacturers have been abusing it...(see watch msrp's. or some brands who always have their watches are perpetually 70-80% off msrp)
in the end, MSRP is not manufacturers suggest retail price (as it's supposed to be), but more a method of enforcement (via MAP or UPP agreements), that if you don't list it for that price, manufacturers can't force you to, but they can drop you as a dealer, so if you want to be their dealer, you have to list it for that price in order to comply with them.
obv, there are manufacturer sales or when products are older they go off MAP enforcement, BUT MSRP doesn't change (unless manufacturers go back and do so, which happens but quite rarely). a good example is... many games that are 3-10 years old, all have $49.99 or $59.99 or higher MSRP but sell for $5-10... is that misleading>?
map, upp, msrp is a much larger discussion, but IMHO, the only thing that should matter here is final price for which you can get this deal, and the actual product and how it sounds... and perhaps the merchant itself, if they have delivery issues, for example.
but, I totally understand the mistrust and paranoia... i am likely in the top 10 on both, heh
Curious if they were able to get you the correct ones?
Thanks
Not yet, they got my return but said they needed 2-3 days for processing, and that they had to receive it in "mint" condition. If they deny a refund because they shipped me the wrong thing and it got damaged in transit ill freak out.

The very few people like you argue what MSRP is used and somehow it's some "deceptive marketing gimmick" but NO ONE claims that discrepancy has them questioning the "quality" of these speakers, two very different arguments!
If it does for you, by all means please explain how?
I'm pretty sure most everyone else that are considering these they researched the "quality" of them and found that regardless of how big or small discount, $1698 for a PAIR of D17's PLUS the D5c is the least expensive price around.
I'm willing to bet people could care less how their money is distributed, like with almost everything else we buy!
