giving up sugars isn't going to make a difference for cancer. Every carb you eat eventually gets converted to sugars anyway. Instead, it's more important to finish treatment in the hopes that all cancer cells are eradicated. If one cancer cell survives, it can eventually grow and spread again. I would suggest their dad only listen to medical providers on what to do and follow their recommendations.

Actual MD here (whether you believe or not). Absolutely minimize your sugar intake as uncontrolled diabetes will make you relatively more immunocompromised, which is already in the case of cancer. However, also enjoy life for you're celebrating something miraculous. And I would definitely not fear monger from a book written by an RN that suggests alternative medicine to treat cancer.

My Dad just completed chemo a month ago and is in remission. We brought lots of chocolate to celebrate -- these had the prettiest packaging but the German chocolates from Aldi won the award for best tasting.
