Supposedly this will be discontinued. They're expecting this price to be normal given hp exit from vr. Having not invested in vr yet, this doesn't seem to be the product you want to start with imo.

There's truth to this. Other than Half Life Alyx, there aren't any AAA-level VR games on the market.

The whole tech is in its infancy — well, this current stage of infancy. (The idea is has been around for 50 years.) If you buy VR today, you're not getting an ecosystem with a bunch of killer apps and games like, say, an Android or iPhone.

It doesn't mean VR is dead; it's just nascent.
