No good VR games on PC is a bummer. VR is long dead (except facebook is still trying to revive it)

The listing would call it out if it were.

Not specifically saying G2 V2 is concerning.
The picture is a V2, you can see the spacer they added between the headset and the facial interface. Also, deep in the product specs it mentions some of the upgrades added with V2.

I looked at this HP, but I went with the quest 2...no regrets... i read the HP has a better screen..my last vr was the Rift. I thought I'd use my pc more to drive the vr games...I have an amd 6900xt...after a few months I find myself just running the games off the Quest 2.

Im enjoying Golf+ and First Person Tennis .both run very well on the quest 2. I want to say the games running from the PC do look better, but the ease of just using the Quest 2 wins for me. Even when running off the PC you can use airlink and be completely wireless...

I get about 1 to 1.5 hours off the stock battery. After an hour of Tennis I literally need a shower..its good exercise.

Resident Evil 4 VR is a must have. Quest 2 exclusive.

The quest 2 needs a head strap upgrade and hand grips...Kiwi makes some great stuff.

Be advised the quest 3 will be out this year..I believe October.

For seated sim then this because it has direct display port connection so the image is not compressed in anyway and you really don't move all that much for the wire to be an issue.

For anything else Quest 2. The wireless experience is awesome and it can play the entire steamvr library is a huge plus.

Source: I have both and a PSVR2, returned the PSVR2.

Being that he's a bit of an old boomer, most likely.

All that being said, VR is not dead but it's back to being niche. If Mark Zuckerberg had just kept making an affordable VR system with good games and not become God of the metaverse and force people having a Facebook account, VR could be out of its infancy at least.

This is better for seated experiences due to the cord... think car racing or airplane/spacecraft type sims; it has a better quality screen and wider FOV. For pretty much anything else, the Q2 will be better and more versatile due to the wired+wireless options, Quest app store, and more accurate controllers.

https://store.steampowered.com/vr

this is on top of the oculus store, on top of a bunch of mods available..on top of a bunch of "experiences" and environments available within some of these games.

don't type nonsense when you're ignorant

I don't have experience with the HP, but I do have a little with the quest 2. The quest 2 doesn't have ipd adjustment, and I have a big head plus glasses. It didn't fit well on me, and the upper outside of my eyes were blurry. The quest 2 software and wirelessness were appreciated, and the hardware is common enough you can find a deal on one used. If I were serious about vr I would lean toward the HP for its higher resolution and ipd adjustability. My 3070 may have trouble pushing the resolution with high texture quality, but I don't have the HP.

Don't forget about Pistol Whip, Raw Data, Vanishing Realms, Google Earth VR (my kids love this for some reason), Moss, Space Pirate Trainer, Superhot.

this has a higher resolution, higher fidelity, but it requires a pc on all the time.
quest 2 is lower fidelity and res, but you can use virtual desktop, or airlink, to stream wirelessly off your pc. It'll also run stand-alone with no pc (it has its own games and apps but the pc games are much more impressive for obvious reasons).

Revergb g2 would be better for sims where you want to see the controls better, but it's not "standalone". Quest 2 you can run Netflix or any app and watch stuff without the need for pc, so it's more "modular".

I paid 600$ when the g2 released, 300$ for quest 2. You can't go wrong with either
