I find that surprising, they must have gimped the graphics a bunch in order to achieve that.

I picked this up for around $15 on a Steam sale. It runs awesome on a Steam Deck @ 60fps and is a perfect handheld game. But not so sure I would want to play it on a Switch. It would definitely be blurry low res graphics with low frame rates.

I have Lego Star Wars on both Switch and Steam Deck. It is almost not playable on the Switch, but is awesome on the Steam Deck. I recommend sticking to games designed for Switch.

Playing Bayonetta 3 right now (another Platinum game) - nowhere near as fluid of combat as Nier Automata. Can only imagine how much they had to simplify some of the massive battles to make this even as good as B3 on the Switch.

I saw the frame dips with b3, it's brutal......

This is probably the best third party Switch port according to Digital Foundry. Actually looks like the PS4 port and very stable fps, not the blurry and stuttering Doom ports that are unplayable IMO.

Different developers.

The reviewers were surprised as to how well it ran. I was too. My issues were actually around loading. It crashed a couple of times when transporting to the ship and on some other load screen. I learned fast to save before doing anything that caused a load screen.

Wonderful game and wonderful port for the Switch. My wife has been telling me to use her Nintendo Switch for years but I hated the Switch with a passion. This game changed that. Got it last month, brought the Switch with me on some flights and man oh man. I love it. I hated 30fps normally, but this port felt so good and on the tiny screen it's easy to get used to. Highly recommended.

For a bit of comparison, I got Bayonetta 3 today and just from the first 30 minutes, there are so many frame dips and mushy pixelated scenes; much worse performance than Nier Automata.

Btw, this won't be remotely close to the Steam Deck in performance. It is night and day. But if you already have the Switch or prioritize portability, I do think the Switch has an edge.

Why do you care even care not everything is made for everyone.if you think don't like it on switch the don't buy it then. But now it's portable and what's your problem with the switch it's now the 3rd besr selling system of all time and it's beating every system that's out now:
