I have Lego Star Wars on both Switch and Steam Deck. It is almost not playable on the Switch, but is awesome on the Steam Deck. I recommend sticking to games designed for Switch.

The reviewers were surprised as to how well it ran. I was too. My issues were actually around loading. It crashed a couple of times when transporting to the ship and on some other load screen. I learned fast to save before doing anything that caused a load screen.
For a bit of comparison, I got Bayonetta 3 today and just from the first 30 minutes, there are so many frame dips and mushy pixelated scenes; much worse performance than Nier Automata.
Btw, this won't be remotely close to the Steam Deck in performance. It is night and day. But if you already have the Switch or prioritize portability, I do think the Switch has an edge.
