Northern lawns for anyone looking. Never will understand why the lawn type is always buried in the listing.

To kill the Weeds use some pre-emergent such as tenacity which you can seed same day after applying. If you buy this seed mix also plan on buying more seed to go on top of it
I can only find tenacity (or torocity) in 8 oz concentrate... Is that the only size available?

Black beauty are the best seeds, with no annual rye grass mix. Seems pricey but in longer run its cheaper.

I like to use peet moss. It holds the moisture longer than just top soil. If you're doing more than a couple 2000 sq ft I'd also recommend getting a compost roller.
I have this one and it works great.

Also there are a LOT of youtube vides out there, just make sure you're watching someone in your part of the country or it'll be mostly a waste of time. ....though it is youtube Big Grin
Thank you! Do I need lawn roller to push seeds or level ground? I saw videos using it and some not.

So with tenacity I spray the grass too, but it only kills the weeds?

That is correct. As long as you follow the dosage recommendations. If you over dose, I believe it "can" kill the grass.

I used tenacity for the first time last year when creeping Charlie was taking over my yard.

I would recommend using a surfactant with (believe you can even use dish soap to an extent).

Very effective: even on all the dandelions.

To kill weeds you need to use post emergent. Pre emergent is used to prevent weeds from going to seed and that's put down when soil temps ~50-55 degrees so it's too late for majority of the USA.

I'd also wait until fall to comple a seeding of a full yard.

Amazon is clearing out bags that will expire in 2 months. That's why it is cheaper than Home Depot. The bag I received has a best used by date of June 30, 2023 and was packaged on March 23, 2022.
