So add a few hondo onto the build cost.
I have the m2pro and it is quite capable but the 512GB was pretty useless for my media needs I bought an Acasis TB SSD case and added 2 TB.
BTW the RAM is not on the die, it uses UMA which means the video and compute RAM are the same in a very fast bus but it is DDR5 memory. The term is SiP which is system in a package, however I get what you are saying and this is one os Apple's many marketing terms.
I guess one can argue its the same silicone, but regardless you aren't upgrading it.

Someone will comment - well a entry level user doesn't need that.
But then I say - they also do not need the speed of am M2 nor even an M1.
Eventually they need to upgrade the ram and storage sizes for the base models.
