Also, you need another bank in order to transfer $ in unless from an Apple Cash card it would seem. They need to give the account its own like "card" in the wallet app so you can access it easier. Since there is no place physical to deposit it would be nice if you could deposit checks from the wallet app.
Anyone going all in?

3% back on apple purchases is kinda pointless. almost always cheaper to buy apple stuff from an authorized reseller.
it's not as sleek or integrated but you can use other cards.

Some cards are good for travel, some cards are good for restaurants, others for grocery etc. That's why people have multiple cards. I've never gotten 1% with the Apple Card, as I never use the physical titanium card. Most everything is Apple Pay these days.
As for the 3% for Apple purchases, you're right that there are usually better deals to be had when buying from third party stores, but again, it depends on the circumstances. There are times when buying directly from Apple can be beneficial for some people, like if somebody needs a special config, which is not usually stocked or sold by the third party retailers, or if somebody wants to buy an expensive item on the zero interest installment plan.
