Sign ups are live. In the wallet app, select your Apple Card, go to the top right menu and hit Apple Cash, and change redemption to savings. Enter your social and you're done.

The account is backed by Goldman Sachs - a bank.

I have signed up and I received congratulations you're saving is open email however I can't see the saving account. I only see apple card and apple cash on my wallet app.
You get to it by tapping on your Apple Card in the Wallet app; once there, in the middle of the screen there should be a section called Savings Account--tap on that to see your Apple Savings Account info.

anyone able to transfer existing apple cash balance to the new savings account? I cant figure out how to do it. When I try to add funds, it only lets me choose my regular bank account
That's weird--when I go to Wallet -> Apple Card -> Savings Account, then tap the Add Money button it brings up the keypad and shows my current Apple Cash Balance available for transferring to Apple Savings. When you go to Apple Card and tap on the triple-dots in the upper right corner, then tap Daily Cash--what does it show under the "Daily Cash Election" section? On mine it shows both "Apple Cash" and "Savings"...

I was successfully created a savings account. After that it asked me if I want to transfer my daily cash to savings, I clicked yes.

On my wife's side, it did not asked if she wants to transfer daily cash to savings. Now, I think there is no option to transfer your daily cash to your new savings account if you didnt elect initally. I know it's still new. If there is a way to transfer it, let me know. Otherwise, I'll probably wait for an update.

A reminder that it pretty much never makes sense to chase interest rates in HYSA's.

This one just launched, so it's going to be a little above average to attract customers. Everyone else is going to slowly climb over the next several weeks.

Overall constantly switching banks will earn you a couple dollars a year. Spend the time learning a skill or doing a job and you could earn much more than that.

If you're already in the Apple Card ecosystem this might be convenient and worthwhile to consolidate. For everyone else, likely not.
It's about earning the most money while doing nothing (or the least amount of work), a capitalist's dream

Just wondering, why do we need this?
Return on regular checking & savings at your local bank is negative. You're literally losing $ there.

Your iOS should be updated to latest version and it will be in Daily Cash in Apple wallet

I'm on the 16.5 and the only thing I see in Daily Cash is Savings Set Up..... which means I didn't open the account but I already opened it and I received the confirmation email so not sure what's going on.

There is no hack involved. GS is doing a "pre-approval" soft pull and then do a hard pull if you accept the pre-approval.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209218
I'm not sure you understand. The hack is that you never get a hard pull, even after accepting the final card offer.

Normal scenario:

1. Jimbo applies for Apple Card, enters his social and income
2. GS does soft pull
3. Next screen there is an Apple Card offer of 20k, 20% rate
4. Jimbo hits "accept"
5. GS follows through with hard pull, and hard pull now shows up on Jimbo's credit report (Transunion)

Hack:

1. Jimbo applies for Apple Card, enters his social and income
2. GS does soft pull
3. Next screen there is an Apple Card offer of 20k, 20% rate
4. Jimbo logs into Transunion and FREEZES his credit
5. Jimbo then goes back to the Apple Card screen and hits "accept"
6. GS tries to follow through with hard pull and can't, so no pulls ever show up on Jimbo's credit report

Both Jimbo's successfully get an Apple Card. Hack-Jimbo circumvents the hard credit pull.

Hmmm. Where do you do that?

Edit: Apple Cash > 3 dots > card details > scroll down and verify

Great find OP!
