The High Edurance version is more of an apples to apples comparison, and they are rated at 40,000 hours versus 70,000 for the Samsung. 128GB is $13.50, and this is $16.

True, you won't run out of space, but you will start overwriting sooner with a smaller capacity card. With a larger capacity card, it'll start overwriting later, so you can keep more history (ie keep more older videos) on the card before being overwritten. This could be helpful in case you don't realize you needed some footage until some time later. You can decide for your use case how important that is to you. Plus, people who drive a lot will also save more footage to the card, so they will probably want a larger capacity card.

For a dashcam, unless you drive 40k+ miles a year, a 128gb should be plenty and should this one should last for years before failure.

If you drive a lot and want the camera on all the time when not driving, then you may want a 256gb card.

I recently purchased the 256gb version of this card from Amazon the other month for my dashcam and almost immediately it began giving me random card error messages upon startup at closer and closer intervals until it stopped working at every startup. Not sure if it was the card quality or if it was a fake card dumped into commingled Amazon inventory but just an FYI. I'll probably jump on this deal and grab from a physical Best Buy location

You can get it shipped for free directly from Best Buy vs. going into a physical store. (Unless it's possible that even Best Buy's online inventory has fakes from other marketplace sellers?)

Only time i will buy from bestbuy as there is always chance some counterfeit might sneak into amazons. I have friends who work in the warehouse and they can't tell and more importantly they don't care.

I have used Samsung Pro Endurance 128GB for about 4 years in my 3 Viofo dashcams without any issues so far.

I have too. But I also had a time I tried to pull video and the time of the (parked) event wasn't recorded even though right before it was. Now this has me wondering… they don't seem to say WHY they found them problematic.

what other card is good enough for storing media? mostly for playing music from it. I have bought this Samsung endurance in the past with 256gb, but reading the reviews i think this is overkill for just storing media in a phone. maybe i can find something at cheaper price with more storage.

If just music and pictures; samsung evo SD card. If you're also doing 4k videos on the phone, samsung pro SD cards
