Had this router for a hot minute but returned it. If you have a bunch of devices on your network it will struggle. It also had a hard time providing decent signal strength to a 1300 sqft home.

I had no issues with this router and lots of devices, I think I have roughly ~60 on it with no issues, range was pretty good as well. I've recommended it to a few people and they all had good luck with it. BUT there were some bad firmware updates for about 6 months where I just had to stick with an older firmware. I've stuck on the last on 386 firmware and it's been good so far, the 388 versions were all buggy, but I havent tried the very newest one so maybe that one is good. (I also have a rtax86u and the same issues with the 388 updates are there but the latest firmware is good on it)

I have approx 45 devices connected in a 2500 Sq ft home and it's without a doubt the most stable of any of the 10 or so routers I've gone through in my life. As poster above said tho: were two or so firmwares that were buggy but nothing a downgrade couldnt fix at the time. Only issue initially was with some devices that didn't properly supported AX on the 2.4 but that was easily fixed by changing those out (smart plugs and a wifi adapter in my case). Alternative of course is to turn off AX.

How is this in comparison to the GT AX6000? I have that in my cart @ $235 right now. What would I be missing? Tia!

That's what I have and I'm having a hard time justifying leaving the trusty Rt-68u...had it forever running merlin and it just runs like a champ with flexqos added in....I could do the same here but I'm not really noticing any wifi speed issues. If I procrastinate long enough maybe it will sell out.

1.3k sqt home lol. mine is 3370 sq.ft. i have rtx-3000 (lower model than this one). have ring pro door and ring flood cam. 4 people in household. lots of devices. for the past 4 years rtx-3000 was rock-solid. no issues w/rssi (signal strength) indicator at all except for flood cam, though it operates at 2.4mgz so that was expected.

That's a better "used" condition, without the 1" scuffs on top and bottom. The "used acceptable" sold out, but I'm glad I got one before it did. I can deal with scuffs for the savings, as my router lives in a closet anyway. Still probably a good deal at $107, especially if your router lives out in the open.

For those who are running ASUSWRT-MERLIN firmware is not compatible. I was about to buy but I have been using ASUS routers for more than 7 years with ASUSWRT-MERLIN. It's been rock solid. Not sure why this model is not supported for ASUSWRT-MERLIN firmware though.

Where did you see it wasn't supported? This is a show stopper for me and I'll have to cancel my order.

According to this https://www.snbforums.com/threads...ing.77492/ the beta firmware was available starting in february. It appears to be stable now: https://github.com/gnuton/asuswrt.../releases/

@slumbersix and others: *update* Just repurchased the router. Yes the deal is still live. People need to look on the right side UNDER the $107 price and check both the op's links.
