Guys beware.. stop buying this piece of shit car. I spent $70k in December which includes enhance autopilot and after driving it for several months I feel the trim inside is worth of $30k car. The autopilot and the initial 0-60 is the only things that I like and for long trips you have to wait and go every 2 hours.. also please wait until next year to get this shitty car to drop to $25k-$30k for model Y and $15k for the model 3.. so many cars in the inventory that people don't want to touch these who previously drove bmws/ Mercedes, so if you want to feel different and show off, go buy a bmw/ merc etc… stay away from this cheap ass Tesla!! these are the facts!!
Careful. They don't like facts around here. Don't talk negatively about mighty Elon or his companies 😂 Most of the cost of a tesla is for the battery and motor. The car part is subpar. Poor build quality, bad fit and finish, horrible customer service. If you don't care about quality and just need an ev with good range, have at it.

BMWs are junk, and Mercedes are overengineered money pits, with few well trained outside Europe to work on them and parts that cost more than kidneys. If you want a sleek car that isn't a Tesla, Lexus is the answer.

Buying a BMW or Mercedes isn't showing off lol. People don't look with respect and envy, they're laughing because it screams of desperate overcompensation and insecurity.
Because tesla owners aren't insecure right? 😂

You must not own one. I have zero problems with customer service or vehicle service. The experience is actually far easier than what I ever had to deal with at BMW and worlds better than what my wife deals with at Honda.

Mercedes level 3 doesn't work if the sun is bright. That's unusable. FSD works in far more situations.

Tesla could achieve level 3 if they put a few significant stipulations on it like Mercedes did. That's not how they operate.
Not how they operate? What does that mean? If they could, they would. Pretty simple.

Please explain the not how they operate. I mean they call their product Full Self Driving, yet it is only a level 2 ADS.

She should have bought a Tesla...as someone who has both a Bolt and Tesla, you better do your homework before taking any non-Tesla EV on a road trip. Even just driving up to Santa Barbara, I encountered numerous dead EV chargers (all high speed...regular is no problem).

They don't need to qualify. There are no level 3 cars on the road, so they don't have to compete there yet. They have the best self driving in the market, so certification doesn't yet matter.

Best self driving in the market? Says who, you?

I mean this is easily debunked with a simple Google search. Tesla may be in the top 10, maybe 7th or so, but far far from the best.

Sorry if facts are getting in the way here.

The important thing is you always find somebody else to blame for your shortcomings. I clearly explained that insurance was not that much more for EVs, directly contradicting people that were outright lying, and provided the evidence to back that claim up.

Rather than argue with the people that were lying; rather than read the information I provided to see if that would clear up your misunderstanding, you chose to argue because by your own admission you were too damn lazy to read. And then you whine about everybody else.

Hypocrisy at its finest. You're the problem, but you'll never learn that because that would require taking some personal responsibility.
You're the best, man! Thanks so much!

I completely agree and I hate Elon, but I can't deny its by far the best car I've ever owned. I have 105k miles on mine and I've had 0 problems done 0 maintenance outside of tire changes and replacing the 24V battery. I can't say a ton about customer service because the car has been so reliable I haven't really used it much. For the 24V battery replacement I scheduled through the app and the dude came to my house and did it for less than the cost of buying a replacement battery for most normal cars. I'm not a super fanboy especially of Elon, but talk to owners to get a real opinion. Also skip FSD its a total waste of money. That is my one regret I did get suckered into buying FSD, but the only really useful feature is autosteer with adaptive cruise control which comes standard. The rest is all useless fluff. EDIT: Also I pay $120 a month for insurance through Tesla which is cheaper than I was paying for a Prius on non-Tesla insurance previously. Quotes from any other company are typically $250 a month and up though.

This analysis is pretty subjective and I don't think you can really use the word "FACT" for it. I've driven a lot of cars with lane keeping and adaptive cruise control and "in my opinion" Tesla was the best. The car will literally drive itself and stay in lane even on a super windy mountain road. The rest is all fluff and no one has it all figured out with stop-signs and turns, but if your primary objective is stay in lane and follow car in front I've driven none better. The people who do the "analysis" you are referring to almost always have an agenda so I don't think you can take it as fact. What sort of metrics did they use?

All of this is great insight.

I'm curious though, I would think many of the enhanced autopilot features are useful. Autopark (had this free on my 2015 Model S), lane change when on autopilot on the highway (I have to disengage autopilot to change lanes now rather that hitting the blinker), and even summon to a lesser extent. Are they not helpful? Certainly, I agree not worth $15k (until autonomy is achieved). Then it'll be worth more than $15k.

Facts are facts. You can easily Google it, if you really want to know. Or is it easier to promote your opinion as facts? Maybe 3 years ago.

Of the 12 ADA systems we just finished testing, Ford BlueCruise came out on top, followed by Cadillac Super Cruise and Mercedes-Benz Driver Assistance.

Tesla, once an innovator in ADA with its Autopilot system, fell from its second-place showing in 2020 to seventh this time around—about the middle of the pack. That's because Tesla hasn't changed Autopilot's basic functionality much since it first came out, instead just adding more features to it, says Fisher. "After all this time, Autopilot still doesn't allow collaborative steering and doesn't have an effective driver monitoring system. While other automakers have evolved their ACC and LCA systems, Tesla has simply fallen behind."

What sort of metrics did they use?

The 12 active driving assistance systems we tested were put through their paces around the track at our 327-acre Auto Test Center in Connecticut and on a 50-mile loop on public roads between September and December 2022. Each system was rated for its performance in 40 separate tests, such as steering the car, controlling the speed, and keeping the driver safe and engaged with the act of driving.

I'm sure you did this in your test as well? With 12 systems?
