The free addition on top of the discount pushed me to purchase. Thanks for sharing.

Plenty around me in NC. Reviews are slightly troubling.

Turf builder will do nothing for dandelions if applied now.

You may have a shot at controlling them next season if applied when they reach puffball phase.

For dandelion control now, spot treat them, or pull them completely.

For dandelion control later drop this down during puff ball season so the weed cannot start growing in your lawn as the seeds land.

Anyone that thinks this is a deal needs to research fertilizer application. There are way better options much cheaper. If the free bag was 15k Sq ft it'd be worth it.

Is it just me or wasn't Scott's like $50 a bag pre COVID craziness. I know there are people who are going to justify price hikes but not $75 on top of $50. Seems like Scott's is one of those companies that got a little.out of hand with "what the market will bear".

Personally I agree with your statement, Scott's never was and at current prices never will be "a deal". My lawn is doing fine using other options for the past 10 years.

What options are you guys talking? Have to start the lawn from new construction dirt/ground. SE Michigan. After reading, I thought I need tall fescue. But scratching head on all sort of weeds growing (neighboring lawn were old houses a d have tons of weeds). Round up killed some but they still growing strong.

I will till the ground and pull all of the grown one before sowing new seeds. But dont know which would be best way to kill those weeds and seeds in the land.

I'm not expert, I had new construction 8 years ago and used Walmart brand "expert" equivalents of Scott's to get it going well. I over seeded with a 40lb bag of Kentucky 31 I got on Walmart clearance for like $30.

I also used milorganite to really get it growing well to crowd out weeds.

It's a constant battle though, even now. Weeds do what weeds do (neighbors or not). So now I just pick up what I can on clearance in local stores and save it in my dry basement for future seasons.

Not all store clearance is the same $$$. For this type of stuff look at the stores in rural areas just after peak season. Brickseek is your friend.

Lots of it is not just the product you get, but your timing and application. I still suck at that 50/50 success even with the same products season to season.

Use granular for feeding and liquid for prevention or killing. It's much too expensive using a granulated weed n feed. A $10 bottle with a hose provided better, faster results for weeds.
