You want the Magnesium L-Threonate [thedizzycook.com] version of magnesium. It's far more expensive than Glycinate though.

"MAGNESIUM L-THREONATE
A newer type of magnesium, magnesium L-threonate is one of the only forms of magnesium that has been shown to penetrate the blood brain barrier, directly raising the magnesium levels in the brain. In studies, it played a positive role with improving Alzheimer's and other cognitive issues.

Developed by MIT grads, Magtein [magtein.com] promotes improvement of learning abilities, memory, and cognitive function. It even helped me get rid of my morning brain fog, a common symptom with Vestibular Migraine. This type also doesn't contain laxative properties that you would find with citrate or oxide. The downside? It's expensive. But since I wrote this article almost five years ago, this is becoming a widely recommended supplement, just based on my own experience with threonate for migraine, as well as my readers!

Threonate is a good supplement to use in addition to another form of magnesium so you're saving money, and reaping benefits from both. It would be difficult to get the total amount you need when most capsules only contain 72-144mg total.

Final Thought: Magnesium Threonate is good for cognitive function, energy, and brain fog. "

Don't be misled by the label. The doctor's best has 100 mg of MAGNESIUM which is basically 1000 mg of magnesium GLYCINATE per one pill. The one that you listed has only 500mg of MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE which is about 50mg of actual magnesium. Please do some research before buying supplements. You may unknowingly overdosing/harming yourself with supplements

To compare:

240 cnt @ 500 mg (120,000 mg) for $17.06

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

vs

OP = 120 cnt @ 100 mg (12,000 mg) for $6.70

Still expensive, even with discount as it's just 100mg per capsule. Why not getting https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076B7QCJK (500mg per capsule - so just one capsule per day)?

There is 14.1mg of magnesium in 100mg of Magnesium Glycinate so no, it's not 'basically' 10mg, you're off by over 40%. What you seem to be missing is that this isn't simply Magnesium Glycinate, it's Magnesium Glycinate LYSINATE which is why this product is a 1:10 ratio.

Sure this product is still a better deal than the ones linked in those comments but you should really be careful because being 41% off with your estimates of dosing with supplements can be harmful to your health. Please do some research before buying supplements.

Trash, magnesium oxide is the cheapest form of magnesium, and it has the worst absorption out of all forms
It's triple stuff, so oxide + other forms. But it still sounds shady, I get it.

These are nice, like the reviews indicate the pills are quite big. I take 1 off and on for anxiety and to help me sleep.

I believe the product you linked is 500mg of magnesium glycinate and not 500mg of magnesium. Looks like someone answered that in the Q&A of the amzn page as 14% of the magnesium glycinate is actually magnesium. I think 500mg of actual magnesium might clear out people's bowels if you know what I mean.

I take the Doctor's best version and only need to take one pill (or 100mg of the active ingredient) and it helps me stay asleep Smilie
I'm a little confused by your comment. Isn't Magnesium Glycinate just a FORM of Magnesium vs Magnesium + something?

EDIT: J03 answered my question

Excellent, thank you! Been taking this brand for nearly a year now. Helps me sleep better and I no longer have night time leg/foot cramps which used to be a weekly occurrence for me.

I don't use S&S often - does the price stay the same if I don't cancel?

That 500 mg is for Magnesium Glycinate, not elemental magnesium. That brand is not being truthful. Big pass.
The now food one is actually 1000 mg Magnesium Glycinate.

Any idea is this brand is still decent? I know they were bought out by a chinese company awhile back but wasn't sure if their quality dipped after. I've been using NOW for 80% of my supplements.

Different brand and also less reputable, some people would rather pay a small premium to buy something that we've used before, especially supplements.

This drbest magnesium doesn't look reputable at fakespot too https://www.fakespot.com/product/...40-tablets

What type of magnesium do you recommend? Every time I have tried them, several different types, I'm completely exhausted that day and the following day.

I'm not an expert but based on my experience and research I take this one before bad only. Glycinate is great for anxiety and stress. If I take it during a day I would be feeling sleepy for the rest of the day. The other great form of magnesium is magnesium malate. Malate gives me a boost of energy for the day. So malate for mornings and glycinate before bed for me. Also you don't have to take the recommend dose. Start small and see what dosage works best for you
