I'd rather invest the $100K in stocks and earn $300 in dividend every quarter. Unless you're balling in income and $100K is your emergency savings, or you're retired or close to retirement, having $100K cash in hand is a terrible financial strategy.

Capital One never gave me my $400 checking bonus from 2 years ago.
How? There are tons of ppl that make $100 an hour and easily can have 100k cash at hand. I've seen accounts from ppl that own commercial properties and real estate see balance going up and down 100-200k in a business checking account. If you're net is in millions and have over 100k cash at hand, I'm pretty sure they're doing pretty well financially.

I'm considering this as well, but I'm really confused with the past performance: YTD Returns +1.33%, 1 Yr +2.34%, 3 Yrs +0.78%. That's a far cry from 4.88%, and makes it seem worthless. I don't understand, can anyone explain why I would do this instead of just a higher savings account?
You can't look at a money market account that way. It follows interest rates, so when rates were really low for years, the return was terrible. Now that rates are up, returns are somewhat decent for minimal risk at 4.88 or whatever. Once rate cuts start to happen in the future, returns for this will start dropping, and at some point you'll want to move your money elsewhere. Although it's almost always going to be better than getting paid .05% by the crooks at banks like Chase.

I am a current 360 account owner, makes me disqualified I guess. Anyone know if I open an account for my spouse and make myself secondary joint holder does that disqualify that account from the bonus offer?

I personally didn't like CIT's UI/IX and the opening process took longer with hiccups throughout the way.. 😬

I know that's finicky haha, but with so many other banks out there we went with someone else.

We have really enjoyed Marcus by Goldman Sachs. Super clean UI, took 5 minutes to open up, transfers from other banks start earning interest the same day if the transfer is before ~3pm EST.

Marcus just bumped up to 3.9% APY and if you use a referral link to sign up, you get an additional 1% for 90 days. And you can refer 5 people and stack the 90 days for a total of 15months extra 1% APY.

If you don't have any friends/family with an account already, I'm happy to DM you my referral link to start.

Good luck!

I have a Marcus account and cit. Marcus is no longer competitive from an apy perspective so barely keep any money in there anymore.

Looking for some advice. I'm a young adult with 17k savings and 90k in investments. I don't want to touch the latter, just want to know if I should leave my savings or try their CD.
