If you're looking to stock up and only need regular sizes there's a 4-pack option available for a few cents per pair less (no slim or husky in this option).

Serious question: at that young age, what is the between boy jeans and girl jeans? Aren't the hips still similarly proportioned? I ask because my sister has a pair of twins made of a boy and a girl.

To the point of your question, the primary difference up through toddler is largely style. Sadly, I can also confirm that into the very young kids ages above toddler the other difference is build quality (although fast fashion has come for boys clothes as well as girls, girls clothes seem more consistently - even from reputable brands - built without the considerations for growth and/or rugged use that are sometimes built into comparable boys pattern; that is longer leg inseam cuts and/or reinforced stitches).

So if you're buying in the toddler sizes it really is a question of style. When you're buying in larger sizes (around 8 or 10, for example) I'd say that you rarely are going to get hurt by buying a boys item for a girl, but buying a girls item for a boy (say a pair of plain khaki pants) may not present the same value (especially as the cuts start to eventually diverge depending upon brand - lest our young women get the idea that their jeans should have usable pockets).
