Anytime you start posting these deals from Adorama I know I'm about to be in trouble! lol. Thanks for taking the time to post all the awesome music gear!

Kicking myself I never did jump on the old Gretsch Jim Dandy post a while back. Keep waiting for it to circle back around hopefully.

Picked up a Malibu during the Fall holiday sales. It has a painted finish and leans towards a brighter sound. It's OK for $229.

Oof. I suppose this one would be ok for a kid or something, but for a musician of almost any kind it's much better to look at the used local market to where you are. I found a 1982 Takimine acoustic on CL for $300 and it plays amazing. Much more bang for your money to buy used. Imo most dinged up used guitars play fine especially you take them into a shop/luthier for an adjustment ($60-$100)

Good advice. My 17 year old son wants an acoustic for his birthday in May. I don't know anything about guitars and he has an electric, but wants an acoustic. He still in the beginner stages. Is a full size or 3/4 (for taking camping, etc) best for him? Prob looking in the $180-$280 range and would appreciate any thoughts y'all have! Thanks!

This is just one opinion… I started playing electric at 14 and always kept several but never got great. My wife got me a cheap Mitchell acoustic for my birthday (in May coincidentally) about 17 years ago. I still love playing it occasionally. If you said he had been playing electric for 3 years and was absolutely shredding I wouldn't say this, but honestly at this stage he's probably fine with a $120 guitar. If you know him well enough to know he'd be disappointed by not getting something better, feel free to disregard my opinion.

Unless he is below average height, I would recommend a full size acoustic (unless he has been playing on a 3/4 size electric). The fret spacing on a 3/4 takes some getting used to, and if he is a beginner and still working on establishing good muscle memory, the difference would add frustration in my opinion. Fender, Epiphone, Breedlove, and Takamine make great guitars in that price range and a little above. I would recommend getting one from a brick and mortar store, so you can easily return it or bring it in for adjustments if something isn't right with it. Most importantly, get him a guitar that he would be excited about and eager to play 👍

I got my daughter a Cort L100F Luce on sale recently at Guitar Center for $280. That thing is fantastic.

How do you find guitar deals with Adorama? Just occasionally search or is there any kind of email list? I remember seeing the strat pro posted a lot a few years back, wish I had bought it then.
