I am not sure exactly what is on sale; I was just looking for the curry chicken and all the pouches and some of the larger kits are 20% off. The kits can be found at discount (like Costco) but I have never seen the individual pouch meals on sale before. Nice chance to try the flavors WM, Dicks and REI don't have.

Why? Super convenient and super light weight. The point is backpacking. They cost way too much for most other use. (~$10/meal) They have a crazy long shelf life.
How do they taste? Some are better than others but this (and Peak Refuel) are expensive and generally taste good. I actually *like* the beef stroganoff but it is not Mom's cooking.

You'll need a long spoon to stir and eat them:

You'll need a rest afterwards:

If you're using them for backpacking and not emergencies, do yourself an enormous favor and just splurge for Peak Refuel. They are vastly superior in every way.
Except shelf life. 5 years vs 30 is a big difference. I agree they taste good but the chicken is always crunchy, never rehydrates.
