The plastic hinge retaining tab broke off mine in 15 months of light use. Not quality - just plastic that breaks after warranty expires rendering lid useless.

Another happy customer here. I've bought a second one (to have one for coffee and one for tea), because I think they're such great product. Not to dismiss plumrt's experience. That's a drag. But my experience, over about half a dozen years, has been 5 stars.

These are great. I do prefer them for cold drinks because it keeps coffee too hot for quite a while.

If your silicone seals start to stink, bake them. 30 minutes at 250 is long and hot enough. Should be relatively stink free once they cool off.

Mine has been going strong for years. Only thing I don't like is it is too narrow for the cup holders in my car and it wobbles all over the place.

I've dropped mine on concrete and stuff a ton of times, and eventually broke the cap. Got a replacement cap, and haven't had any issues.

I have had the issue with the seals/gaskets absorbing smells like coffee, or mildewy smell from keeping water in the bottle too long. I see someone suggested baking them... Is that (food) safe?

Denture cleaner tablets are also good in cleaning the whole thing. I take off the silicone seals, put them in the Zojirushi, and fill it up with a denture cleaner tablet in hot water. Let it soak for a few hours, or until the hot water cools, drain, and the whole thing is good to go!
