Note that the PSU is 400W

That's fine for what it is now but it will limit future upgrades

I am absolutely floored this system is SHIPPED by Microcenter. Almost all of Microcenter's deals are in-store only.

With that in mind... There are 4 DIMM slots, here is the manual [lenovo.com] along with the Product Page. [lenovo.com]

Seems like a decent deal.

Just upgrade the video card instead, can sell the 1660 for $150 on Ebay.

Tempted to make the drive due to the $25 in store text coupon from last week. Always tough determining when to dive in to a new build.

Does the price have an end date?
It's end date is the fact that a few hours ago, they had 18 and as of right now they have 12.

Thanks. Reviews on the power supply and motherboard scared me off. Good deal for those who don't need to push it tho I guess.

I bought very close to this system at Best Buy and swapped the psu for a 700w and got a 3080ti locally for $450. Also swapped 2x16gb ram. It's really good for a prebuilt with reasonable temperatures. Lenovo uses quality mid range components.

The big annoyance is the locked bios. No resizeable bar. Still it's a powerful build with decent cooling for under $1200 with the swapped parts.

They also have an i7 with 3060 for $799. Very decent price. Only real downside I see is only 2 ram slots and comes with 16 gigs.

Buy this and yank out the 3050. Sell it to a casual Nvidia fan for $250 and pick up a 6650XT. Winner. it's not crazy what the 3050 is going for.

I see the detailed specs here to get a sense of future upgradability. However I dont understand why they limited the upgrade path to 3070i (and not 3080 or 3090) .

I dont need the most powerful gaming system. So I am ok to upgrade to 3080 or 3090 in another couple of years and still be able to run games of that time.

But it is not very clear why this spec limits the upgrade path ? (because of Power Supply ? inwhich case I can plan to upgrade that as well)

Follow up question to my own deal: Would something like this be a good upgrade over my current PC? I'm looking to get a 49" Ultrawide and I Was told my existing system my not be suitable for that

Existing specs:
Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 - 500GB Solid State Drive
Either Pc will drive that monitor for normal use.
For gaming, no clue, but I drove that monitor on a MUCH older archaic computer no problem and had this same desktop and driving it fine for normal video editing and work functions

I would go with Intel 12th/13th Gen CPU. Now it's 2023Q2, there is really no point to buy CPU that is two years old.
The point to buying it is that it is +%50 off.
I think I paid like $1100 for this desktop on what was a steal at that time. This is a no brainer at $600 imho unless you need a super hardcore gamer pc
