Some days even the buckets at the box stores are dented so I can only imagine what will happen when one gets shipped from Amazon with a single air pack or a crumpled up piece of brown paper inside a cardboard box.

A bag of easy-sand is more convenient tor miscellaneous occasional patching. Keep the bag dry and it never goes bad. Mix up only as much needed and it's ready to recoat/sand/paint in way less time than premixed.

Plus one to those that said add a small layer of water and wiping the sides. I always save the paper that's usually in the bucket and put the back on top when I'm done as well.
As my father always said, just slap the stuff, (He didn't say stuff), on and stop playing with it!
Need a good knife and a tray. Never, ever, ever, put mud back in the bucket. Throw away what you don't use in the tray.
