I got this last year in October for $446.99 open boxed. Super high value computer.

My only complain is its lack of a full featured USB-C port, as well as its lack of advanced video output capability. (limited by the HDMI 2.0)

What about 250-nits, 45% NTSC. I keep reading in all these laptop threads that these specs would be dim with inaccurate colors?

BAD REVIEWS: BIG COMPLAINTS ABOUT BEING UNDERPOWERED!! Battery doesn't last but 90min, power supply cant keep up with gaming while attached to power.... Seem like requirements for the video card are greater than power supply delivers

Does this support type c charging?
I don't believe so. Lenovo's answer to all the questions is that this USB-C port is capable of data transfer only (I was looking to see if it could run a third monitor, but it doesn't appear so).

Why the thumbs down on this comment? He is correct, this laptop will slowly discharge when gaming due to the low wattage power supply. Upgrading to a 170w+ power supply resolves this problem. Because the battery discharges while gaming the laptop also becomes quite hot. Otherwise this is an excellent laptop for the price as a 170w PS can be had quite cheap on eBay. I wanted something like this but ended up getting an Asus ROG Strix G15 AE, now I have regerts…

Anyone know if the wifi adapter can be replaced in this? If so, is Lenovo still doing whitelists for wifi adapters in the BIOS?

250 nits is plenty for indoor use, assuming you don't have the sun beaming through the window right behind you.

45% ntsc means it's not going to be very color accurate, so not recommended for photography work, etc.
it's not going to blow anyone's minds away when it comes to movies/games either, so temper your expectations. at this price range, i don't expect anything better to be honest. for a cheap gaming laptop, i'd rather take the 120hz over color accuracy (if i had to choose).
you'll most likely get used to it the more you use it, assuming you're not super picky. if you are, then you may need to pony up for something better.

The power supply problems sound bad, but short battery life is the rule on gaming laptops.

Gaming laptops ultimately aren't really meant to be used on the run. The battery seems more "if you gotta swap outlets, go for it" level (I say as someone who routinely buys cheap gaming laptops).

I'm most often impressed that I was able to play for 30-45 mins before a warning when the power supply came loose from one without me noticing, but also always remark, "Oh, I was using the battery. That's why performance stunk" at the same time.

If you're dreaming of writing the great American novel at Starbucks, this is not the droid you're looking for…

I bought it during the Black Friday sale and returned it because of issue with the included charger. The reviewers are correct that the included charger will NOT keep the laptop charged while under heavy load. Lenovo commented on this and their response was for the user to "lighten the load" so that the battery charges back up. So, just keep that in mind if you purchase it.

What he was saying is that the battery goes down while playing games...even when plugged in the whole time. I had to return this because of that. I had the laptop plugged in and at 100% battery. Started playing Days Gone (runs great on this btw), and after about 20 minutes..the battery was down to 87%. So, even if you keep it plugged in, it will shut down after a period of time because the battery hits 0% and the power adaptor they give you isn't strong enough to keep up with the demands of the CPU/GPU.

Buying a more powerful one (170w) and it solves the problem. But, by the time you purchase that ($75-$90), more RAM ($30-$60), and a new SSD ($100)...this is no longer a good deal.

The system did stay pretty cool. The highest it hit was 86C..can't remember if that was CPU or GPU, but neither ever hit 90C.

Had to return for this reason. Plugged in, it went from 100% battery to 87% battery. By the time you replace the cord/adaptor, upgrade the RAM, and get a new SSD...this is no longer cheap. You have to spend at least $200 more just for this to function.
