I think Amazon is lazy with their California compliance or something. Either didn't get it certified for being energy efficient or didn't include prop 65 warning? I have found many times that things are barred from shipment to California that seem like they should be fine

Probably because this light is known to cause cancer by eating the entire light. Or something

Did anyone of you convert this to a plug in type by attaching a wire with three prong plug? If so what did you use
Cut up any standard computer AC cord.

Daylight is the best. Anything else should be illegal. Imagine trying to light up the outside and not try to make it as bright as day. Ludicrous. But I also do 5k inside. Anything else is sleepy and blurry.

I'm in the Bay Area, CA.
You can check your billing address and the shipping address. Some deal require the billing and shipping need to be the same. I noticed that few months ago, that I found a deal on amazon , and I tried to ship to to my parent home, and my workplace both of them showing the same message like this, but I can ship it to my home even we are all in the same County.

I do 5k outside and more like 3k inside. 5k inside is like you're living in an office building, but 5k outside actually means you can see better in the dark.

I dont have one of these lights. A few years ago I settled on another brand after a bad experience outfitting a shed with 360 degree motion lighting. As you can imagine buying 4x of a high end motion light gets expensive, so rather than buy the same lights I had on my house (which were like $50+/ea at the time) I went to a $30 model. They all died within a few weeks. So I've learned my lesson and go with the brand that's treated me well. Spending another $20 on a light beats having to replace it even if once, due to these things tending to be in places you need a ladder to access.

I live in the Pacific Northwest and I'm skeptical it's waterproof here.

It's weird to me to say 'it's like an office building'. Offices are bright and productive. I also like to be productive at home. When I need to rest, I dim the 5k or turn it off. Yellow, orange lighting is very hazy and make things blurry. I have never paid extra for brand names and haven't had any issues with any of my 5k lights. My favorite lights lately are Walmart 5k LED shop lights that were on sale $10 each. 2 light up my garage like you wouldn't believe.

My landlord is crap and the 10yr old light outside the door no longer works.
How easy is it to buy this and just replace it myself?

If I was a business owner (and I am) I would never ship or sell anything to California (and I don't) lol

So if I do not have a fixture on top of the garage entrance, I need to pull wire and install a socket? How much is an estimate for that task?

I had to click on this deal because the picture looks like an anatomy text drawing of ovaries and uterus, and the pic also looks like the head of a praying mantis. You'll have to excuse me, I fell off my bicycle a few days ago and took a very hard hit to the head. Carry on.

I bought this last week and it arrived on Tuesday, broken. Where the light meets the plastic, three screws were broken off from the plastic. I returned it, and I dont want a replacement. The screws that broke off, connected to the plastic were tiny, like 1/4 inch, so I assume the replacement would break the same way. Design Flaw... They look good on the outside, but cheaply built.

I work at a scrapyard. Integrated LED lights like this show up every now and again because they got waterlogged. They're often not waterproof, they're just designed to shed water before it has a chance to get in but that can't cover every angle like good O-rings would.
If you have a tub of clear silicon at home, I bet just rubbing your finger across all the joints would seal it for life.

And you can, but for house lighting I prefer 3K as well, as it doesn't hurt your night vision as much and feels a lot more comfortable if you're just walking around the property and don't want to stub your toe.

The only place I now use 5K or 6K "daylight" is in specific work areas for project work, which so far is only the garage and my office desk light.

Everything else warm light just feels more "homey" and less "Walmart".
