For some godly loose meat sandwiches, courtesy of my late grandpa:

Cook 1LB of ground beef and fully drain the liquid
Add in 1 can of this gumbo, drain about 1/3 of the liquid beforehand so the end result isn't too soupy
Season with a bit of garlic salt
Serve on your choice of buns, I just use some good old hamburger buns as that is how my grandpa always made these.

Didn't realize the chunky version had been around for that long. Will give it a shot. Not sure if my palate changed but I used to be ok with canned fruit but now it tastes like plastic. Hoping soups are not the same

I notice it in acidic canned goods like tomatoes or fruit.

Soup not as much. That said, I like these by I'm on a diet and no processed foods, next time maybe

For what it's worth, both spicy chicken noodle & spicy chicken and sausage gumbo are a similar price

Looks like 12 cents per ounce, the 5% off S&S price, is the same price as at my local Walmart. So the deal here is entirely in the 20% off coupon.

I do like these, so I opted in for the 20% off. Thanks OP.

Been finding this for $1.69 - $2.19 per can at Grocery Outlet / .99 Cent store. It's a decent soup, I just don't need 8 cans all at once.

Why do I like processed food like this so much. They must be putting some kind of addictive drug into these.

Chunky had 5 different kinds of soup at Walmart two weeks ago for $1 each so loaded up about 20 cans. A week later Most of the kinds of Chunky and Progressive soups were $0.25 so I bought another 43 cans for $10.75.

These are nice to have in the cupboard for when I don't feel like cooking. Throw a good dash of hot sauce in it (I like Crystal — it's not super hot) with some saltines on the side, and I'm good to go.

Salt.

This is the only chunky soup I eat, well this and the spicy one if I can get it. The stores around my way have these on sale for this price or better a few times a year, but it you want to stock up pretty good deal. I wonder how close to the expired date these are?

Inflation must be slapping if this is a "deal"

Have you been in a coma the last few years? They are listed online for $2.40 a can at Walmart and Target.
