Ppl on Slickdeals are the ones trying to buy their discounted phones so they can trade it in for $1000 on AT&T

Am I wrong in thinking that the best future trade-in value will be to get this iPhone 13 mini and then trade-in despite locked device? Seems to fetch $350 or so with Apple and perhaps will be most valuable during a carrier promo for trade-in.

How's the service? My wife and I are currently with Visible but we're looking for new devices. Does anyone know if the iPhones would work with CDMA after being unlocked? I noticed the price only applies to a GSM network.

it should but it has to be GSMA. phone is carrier locked and wont work with CDMA or GSMT

Not necessarily. My existing GSMA el cheapo eBay $60 annual plan (100/100/500) doesn't qualify:

"Your existing lines do not qualify for this offer.

Add a line to qualify"

Maybe I can add a qualifying line for 3 months, cancel that line, and then swap in my existing el cheapo plan SIM for unlocking purposes like NickSlickBlack is asking, I don't know.
