What games? They're a business who are trying to keep their customers.

Ppl on Slickdeals are the ones trying to buy their discounted phones so they can trade it in for $1000 on AT&T

They're not here to make you money, so they're just protecting themselves

Your iPhone 14 Pro hasn't been used for a year yet. Did you not know this? Maybe you're the problem. You're the one trying to play games.

CDMA is no longer a thing since the shutdown of the 3G networks.

They enforce the 12mo unlocking policy. Super annoying, and wanted me to pay $300 to unlock a $999 iPhone 14 pro I bought with them in September.

This is stupid. Stop playing games RP. 9-19-23 I will be porting back to visible.

I have pretty much nearly tried them all (prepaid) and red pocket is the best bang for the buck prepaid. I am long time customer. Their phone service, value and customer service has been good to me. I have used both redpocket (att sim and TMobile sim) and both work great. The 5G is smoking fast with redpocket TMobile sim. With other phones that I purchase, I am interested in unlocking policy but if were to buy this, I would continue to use redpocket service like I have many years. Just unlock it when it is ready.

* On ebay with their redpocket store, they have a very impressive 98.4% feedback score and they sold like 280k items. That is where I purchase my plans but the website is run the same. They just have slight different plans. The ebay annual plans are considered BYOP plans so they can't be used in fulfilling unlocking terms. There are redpocket website annual plans that are good value. I think one can use their monthly plan for 3 months to get the rebate discount card and then should purchase their website annual plan as that should fulfill unlock policy. More important is that one is getting a very solid deal with the plan values with the annual deals.

Yep. The unlock policy is written in black and white. It is user error if the person automatically assumed his redpocket iphone was automatically unlocked or doesn't fullfil it and expect the company to break their unlock policy. Redpocket is giving the customer a pretty significant discount on newer style iphones where nobody else is and in return the customer uses their service. Crazy that redpocket wants to make some money?! Redpocket can't take the loss on "just phone purchase and quit service buyers" like some other big money companies.

Not worth it.
Red Pocket sucks and forced to have service for 12 months instead of pricing the phone outright.
To have them grag their feet during the port and cancelation process for months.
Amen...they will not let you off until the 12 months are over...even if you prepay the whole term...I will NEVER buy a phone from them EVER !

My question is does this redpocket thing work outside the united states?
I know their website says it is not supporting international roaming, but it says WiFi calling is supported. Does that mean I can connect to a wifi network and still getting calls? Or with wifi calling, you still need to activate the international roaming?

I am pretty sure 4 years ago when I used redpocket, it was not working for international roaming even when I travelled between cities in the US, I have to update a proxy setting to make my phone work. I am not sure if this improved or not.

I switched 2 of our lines to the Mint mobile 15 usd 12months plan. I still have one line that can switch from T-Mobile corp unlimited to everything plan out.
No it does not.

I am an existing customer. My two lines don't qualify for this offer. Can I add another new line and after 3 months stop paying for and switch to my old line?
I did a few 2022 SEs with them last year, since they are e-sim phones you can have both lines on the same phone. As in activate a new line (E-SIM) then port your other number to a new regular GSMA sim for slot 2 on the new phone. Make sure auto pay is on or you may have trouble with the rebate. Do not assume that the info you enter when ordering the new phone/line auto transfers over to auto pay because it doesn't. The only snag I had during the process. Otherwise it's a good deal, and I've had awesome service from Red Pocket. Please understand the terms of the lock before ordering. Good luck!

ETA- both lines must be GSMA for this to work. If different carriers you will get the phone is locked message. HTH

Incorrect, Visible has been giving $$$ off for the 12pro & 13pro.

The strategy here is to churn phone porting offers to subsidize upgrade cost. So first $999 - 100 - 200 = 699 + tax for 13 pro (visible). Then sell that for 650, get the 14 pro for 999 - 100 - 200 = 699 (rp but they didn't charge tax). So $50 upgrade to the next iPhone.

Now when the 15 pro comes out I'll get a ATT esim, port out of rp to that, and then port back to Visible or Metro & get another $<100 upgrade. Been doing this for years, but unlock services don't seem to work with redpocket.

I also do this with credit card signup offers, get a couple thousand a year extra with it that is tax free.

Good summary. I've been bouncing between US Mobile for good low-data plans and Google Fi's deals but been looking for a iPhone mini (ideally 13) as a backup phone.

What's your experience with RP? Any issues porting in or out of those carriers?

$700 is a lot of money. Plus Visible plans cost a ton more than the MVNO competitors. I also don't want to spend $300 a year or $25 per month service plan. $700 phone + 1 year service = $1,000. To me, $1,000 is a lot of money for a phone and 1 year service. I would never ever pay $700 for any phone especially with all the great deals around on slickdeals. I am talking about phones in the reasonable deal price ranges. I am not talking about metro $99 phones or free phones but nowhere near $700. Did you know that the Visible iPhone 13 costs $699 right now at Visible website? Red Pocket iPhone 13 costs $399. That is a huge $300 price difference. The Metro iPhone 13 costs $529 when one brings their phone number in.

* The unlock service does work for redpocket. One just needs to fulfill the obligation. They aren't lying about 12 month service requirement.

Can I do the 3 months for $20 to get the rebate and then switch to an annual eBay plan and still qualify for the unlock after 12 mo? I read their unlock policy and they don't address this specifically but it seems it should work. Anyone have any experience with this scenario?

Also, if anyone has a referral code, DM me as I'm seriously considering signing up.

So can you change the plan after 1 month and still get the rebate? (probably not?) Can you change the plan after 3 months and still get unlocked after 12 months? I'm thinking a $99 iPhone SE and the $10 a month 1GB plan seems pretty good for my father but can I switch from the $20 plan minimum they make you start with to the $10 plan?
