assuming you are building from scratch and do not have any desktop (or incompatible parts), then you still need

CPU cooler (AIO, air, or liquid) $100-200
SSD (nvme or sata) $50-150 depending on size
desktop case $50 - whatever depending how fancy you want it
power supply that has enough power $100-200
graphic card (optional) $200 to sky the limit depends on what you buy

if you have previous desktop, all of these parts i wrote earlier are re-useable, except maybe the CPU cooler, since it's specific to LGA socket.

SSD, case, power supply, and gpu can be reused from your older desktop, even if it's as old as 10 year old desktop.

I have a hp 580-023w pc. It has 65w psu i guess. Can i reuse any parts from that?

Thanks to this stupid combo I started drooling over new hardware and a week later bought a 7800x3d, x670e carbon, and 64gb 6000mhz c30 Corsair vengeance rgb……..

Funny how a $550 deal ends up convincing me to spend $1200 but dang it I love the upgrade lol.

So let's say you spend 50 on tax and toss in another 100 to get 64gb ram. For 500 less you get like 95% of the computer, maybe 105% depending on the benchmark! You don't have to worry about EXPO not working or high soc voltage blowing up a Ryzen chip either lol.

My beef right now is that if you want a board with more pcie or a silly amenity like the 7 segment post code screen, you gotta pay 400 bucks for it!!! It's such bullshit!! Frown

I was willing to pay 550+taxes. clicked on the link to reserved it on Thursdays and got lucky that it showing $400+. Reserved and just picked up on Saturday for price below at TUSTIN California store I guess price varies .
