There are rumors that the next AMD CPU chip may have dedicated local AI compute units and come out by the end of the year. That may be a distinctly more worthy upgrade than a 5950x to 7950x.

AMD is claiming some 16% uplift average it seems but given smaller node... possibly more legs when more power applied? Still, 16% more performance for 30% more price at launch makes the 7000 appealing. USB 4 on next Gen boards though would also be an incentive to wait I suppose

9000 series has just been released with a 16% IPC uplift. I would wait and compare the performance vs a 12-core 9000 series. But that's just me. The shelf date is the end of July, so if you can wait....🤷 ♂️
