This, or Bosch GSR12V?
I feel there's minor differences, while Bosch is cheaper and a bit more compact (without the handguard part). I am not committed to any of the two brands yet, so wondering which would be a better tool for regular home / indoor tasks.

I have both. The Bosch is my go to and I'm putting the Milwaukee for sale. The Bosch's ergonomic grip is better for me and it feels lighter. Power is about the same for both. If you plan on working on cars though, the Milwaukee will probably be better because the M12 stubby is a beast.

Amazon has the 2505-22 for $162: https://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-...C63&sr=8-1

This one is 2505-20 - anyone know the difference? Is it worth the extra $37?

the amazon doesn't have the 5.0 HO battery, which is a $100 battery, and the only ones that I am now using in most of my tools.

I use this tool almost daily, and the HO battery makes this an even better tool than it was before.

What are the pros/cons to this kit versus the hammer drill + impact driver combo for $20 more? https://www.homedepot.com/p/M12-F.../321639499

I don't know what I'd use the extra heads for on this kit. They both come with two battery packs. 🤔

If I already have an M12 FUEL drill/driver/impact does it make sense to get this? I feel like this is redundant, unless there's some other use I'm not thinking of

The installation driver can fill in some gaps the hammer drill/impact can't - e.g. for tight spaces or cabinet assembly/installation, situations where your fastener is close to a 'wall' and it might be difficult to get in without the offset or right angle adapter this tool includes.

I have both the Gen 3 impact & hammer drill you linked, as well as the installation driver. The installation driver is my go-to, but if I could only choose ONE kit, it would probably be the Impact + Hammer Drill... because I occasionally need to put holes in concrete.

Personally, I'd go for Milwaukee - the M12 lineup is very diverse and has way more (and more useful) tools than any other manufacturer of 12V tools.

M12 offers more tools (that regularly have good sales) in their lineup. For that reason alone I'd skip the Bosch. If you know for sure you don't want any other tools in the M12 ecosystem, you can disregard this advice

Nice! Was able to grab it this time! Had a $20 off >$100 order coupon too! Made it even sweeter!

And no, I don't know why Home Depot sends me those coupons. I get them in the mail almost every two weeks and they are always Home Depot credit card only offers.

One of my favorite tools. Have the M18 $399 hammer/impact with 5ah (2) batteries, which is awesome for the big jobs, but the installation tool gets the most use. At first hated the electronic forward/reverse, but now love it, because how many times have you accidentally switched directions, or put your other drill in neutral, because you're having to hold something at an angle? Won't happen with this. Clutch is also very adjustable, put it down to 3-5 for easily stripped screws, and you're good to go. The magnetic bit holder on the handle guard is also a favorite. Nice that this new one comes with a bigger second battery, but it's awkward because I don't think it stands up because of the balance, or maybe it's just very tippy, can't remember.

I also have the M18 drill driver and picked this up because they are just too much for the every day small jobs.

You need a hammer drill for that, a normal drill will not work on concrete, tile or stone.
Not well LOL. If I could go back and talk to my young self... all the hours saved.

I've had this for a year; it's fun to use but really for light duty stuff compared to a full-size drill.
I like to think of it as a beefed-up screwdriver.

It'll drill 1" holes through joists for electrical pretty easily, I wouldn't necessarily consider that "light duty stuff"

So I have had the yellow brand for about 5 years I should say ecosystem tools I have with that are about toast so I'm looking to get into a new ecosystem from drills to routers basically normal dyi carpentry just wondering peoples opinion on Milwaukee vs other brands I remember having a killer drill back in the day like 15 years ago old school but awesome...thanks for any input my level of skill is medium-low I built a 20 by 25 deck attached to house and got the city inspector approval so that's kind of my level of skill basic but I use the tools I have a lot thanks in advance

I have Milwaukee and Dewalt tools. IMO the dewalt installation driver is better than the Milwaukee. Go look up some reviews of both. I have both brands in 12v because the form factors are quite different so I don't want to be stuck with just one.
